Abstract:
In embodiments of double hinge radial cams, a portable device includes a first housing integrated with a display device, and a second housing movably coupled to the first housing. The first housing is operable to open and close relative to the second housing, and the first and second housings can be rotated from a closed position at approximately zero degrees (0°) to an open position at approximately one-hundred and eighty degrees (180°). A double hinge is operable to movably couple the first housing and the second housing. The double hinge includes radial cams that apply a holding torque in the open position that resists the first and second housings closing.
Abstract:
A hinge device includes a first connecting member, a second connecting member, and a locking member. The first connecting member defines a connecting portion hole therein. A positioning arm with an angled surface is located on the first connecting member. The second connecting member defines a connecting body hole therein. A connecting body post is located on the second connecting member. The locking member engages in the connecting portion hole and the connecting body hole so that the first connecting member is rotatable relative to the second connecting member. The connecting body post abuts on the angled surface and the first connecting member is rotated between a first position where a first friction is generated between the connecting body post and the angled surface, and a second position where a second friction is generated between the connecting body post and the angled surface and greater than the first friction.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a hinge for furniture units with cornice, provided inside with a spring device suitable to produce a pushing force on the door in the opening direction, in such a way as to be coupled with a holding device, for example of the ratchet type, and avoid the use of handles or other grasping elements. This hinge, with a single pivot pin, has an elastic element or spring, of the flat or steel wire type, fixed in a box or furniture element integral with the door, capable of exerting a pushing force on a cam or projection analogous to the fixing arm of the hinge and disposed so as to obtain a moment in the opening direction. Advantageous variants include a cam constituted by a separate plastic element fixed to the arm of the hinge or by one or more tabs produced on the arm. Advantageously, the spring can exert the pushing force during opening directly on the box, on the back of the fixing arm or on the lateral ribs of the arm.
Abstract:
A temporary checking device is provided that works in conjunction with elements of a vehicle hinge that remain in the vehicle's final configuration. The hinge includes a hinge pin rotatably connecting a door hinge bracket to a pillar hinge bracket. The checking device includes a spring portion that is disposed between the door hinge bracket and the pillar hinge bracket. The spring portion is compressed during movement of the door hinge bracket relative to the pillar hinge bracket from either of two rest positions. The spring portion urges the vehicle door affixed thereto back into one of the rest positions, thus allowing manufacturing operations such as painting, etc., to be performed on the vehicle.
Abstract:
A quick connect system for an electronic device, comprising a docking station configured to engage the electronic device, the docking station having a locking mechanism actuatable to an unlocked position, the locking mechanism configured to independently remain in the unlocked position and automatically return to a locking position in response to disengagement of the electronic device from the docking station.
Abstract:
A hinge device is used in an office machine including a main body and an upper cover. The hinge device includes a base, a rotating shaft and an elastic structure. The base includes a connecting part and a shaft sleeve part. The connecting part is fixed on the main body. The shaft sleeve part has a channel and a baffle. The baffle is arranged at an external surface of the shaft sleeve part. The rotating shaft is penetrated through the channel. The elastic structure includes a fixing part and a bending part. The bending part is correspondingly moved on the external surface of the shaft sleeve part during a process of opening or closing the upper cover. When the bending part is sustained against the baffle, the upper cover is positioned in an open status to define an included angle between the upper cover and the main body.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a hinge for connecting a panel to a body for movement between open and closed positions. The hinge comprises a first bracket constructed to be mounted to one of the body and the panel in an installed position of the hinge, and a second bracket constructed to be mounted to the other of the body and the panel in the installed position of the hinge. At least one hinge pin pivotally connects the first and second brackets. An engaging member is provided on the first bracket, and a check arm is movably connected to the second bracket. The check arm has an engaging surface with at least one detent. The engaging surface is engaged with the engaging member. A spring seat is pivotally mounted to the hinge pin, and a spring has one end engaging the spring seat and the other end engaging the check arm so as to bias the check arm into engagement with the engaging member. As the first and second brackets pivot relative to one another the engaging member and check arm move relative to one another with the spring biasing the check arm into engagement with the engaging member, and the spring seat pivots about the at least one hinge pin to accommodate a change in orientation between the check arm and the second bracket.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a hinge, preferably a furniture hinge, comprising a hinge arm which is pivotably supported on a joint axle which is non-displaceably held in a cup-shaped hinge part and which is provided with a tongue projecting beyond the joint axle or with a cam eccentric with respect to the joint axle or with a control edge which slide on a leaf spring whose one end region is held at the pivotable hinge part and which generates a closing torque in the closing region. In accordance with the invention, the leaf spring has at least two portions of different widths, with the at least one narrower portion of the leaf spring passing through a center recess of the hinge arm, with a tongue being cut from the lower edge of said recess. The at least one wider portion of the leaf spring is pressed against the base of the hinge cup by a transversely extending pin and thus fixedly held by a transversely extending pin.

Abstract:
In order to ensure that a door can be retained at least in a fully opened position and a slightly opened position by the combination of a smaller number of exclusive parts with a hinge connecting a body and a door in a door retention device used in a process of manufacturing an automobile, the door retention device includes a torsion spring 23 mounted to a first hinge arm 1 of a door hinge H, and a cam 20 formed on a second hinge arm 2 of the door hinge H. The cam 20 is provided with a first positioning recess 20a and a second positioning recess 20b in which a movable arm portion 23c of the torsion spring 23 is brought into engagement in the fully opened position F and the slightly opened position S of the door D, and a projection 20c disposed between the first and second positioning recesses 20a and 20b and adapted to apply a load to the movable arm portion 23c in accordance with the turning of the door D. The torsion spring 23 is capable of being mounted and demounted in a non-loaded state to and from the first hinge arm 1 in the fully opened position F of the door D.
