Abstract:
A system for interconnecting multiple panel assemblies comprising a first bracketing body having a first bearing member and at least one planar member; a second bracketing body having a second bearing member pivotally engaged with the first bearing member and at least one planar member; a third bracketing body having at least one planar member; a fourth bracketing body having at least one planar member; a first panel receiving volume at least partially defined by the at least one planar member of the first and third bracketing bodies; a second panel receiving volume at least partially defined by the at least one planar members of the second and fourth bracketing bodies; and wherein the at least one planar members of the second and fourth bracketing bodies at least partially define a second panel receiving volume. According to another aspect of the present invention, a first thermal insulating body is positioned between and separates the first and third bracketing bodies, and a second thermal insulating body positioned between and separates the second and fourth bracketing bodies. According to yet another aspect of the present invention, a fastenerless connection is provided between surfaces of the system and the panel assemblies.
Abstract:
A door hinge for an automobile includes a first bracket fixed to a body, a second bracket fixed to a door, and a hinge pin, the first bracket including a base plate portion having a bolt hole, a pair of arm plate portions standing up from upper and lower edges of one end part, on the door side, of the base plate portion and supporting the hinge pin, and a pair of rib portions extending from the arm plate portion and standing up from the upper and lower edges of the base plate portion so as to oppose each other with the bolt hole interposed therebetween, wherein opposite end parts, perpendicular to the extending direction of the rib portion, of the base plate portion are open, and the rib portion is formed so as to have a thickness larger than a thickness of the arm plate portion.

Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a safety unit of a hinge for a folding ladder to prevent a user's finger from being caught in the hinge when the hinge rotates. The hinge includes a first joint unit, a second joint unit, and a locking unit, and the safety unit is provided between a first stop shoulder of the first joint unit and a second stop shoulder of the second joint unit. The safety unit includes a mount part and an insert part. The mount part is provided in the first joint unit to be positioned under the first stop shoulder, and an inside portion of the mount part is rounded to surround a part of the first joint unit. The insert part extends from an upper end of the mount part, and is rounded to have the same curvature as the inside portion of the mount part. When the second joint unit rotates relative to the first joint unit, the insert part is inserted into the second stop shoulder, Further, an insert blade is inwardly projected from horizontal center lines of inside portions of both the mount part and the insert part, and is circumferentially inserted into an outer circumferential surface of the first joint unit.
Abstract:
A single-button support mechanism is provided to improve a turning means joining an upper portion and a body of a device. The support mechanism constructs a pivot and a holding groove at the upper portion and, at the body, a cam trough, a button groove, and another groove for accommodating a retaining member to further hold a first spring. The cam is formed as saw type teeth at a peripheral thereof, and each tooth of the cam has a notch engageable with a position button. By applying the single-button support mechanism, the turning means can utilize the cam moving in the cam trough for engaging with the upper portion at a selected angle, and utilize the position button movable in the button groove for controlling the opening or closing of the upper portion.
Abstract:
The invention includes a pivot that is preferably attached to a child's seat and used to adjust the position of a canopy. The canopy pivot can be adjusted by pulling on the canopy frame to move the canopy to a desired position. No separate locking mechanisms are required for locking and unlocking the canopy at a plurality of different positions. The canopy pivot includes a flange member extending from the child's seat. The flange can have indents or nubs therein which mate with indents or nubs located on the canopy pivot member. The resiliency of the flange member at a specific location between the indents or nubs and the contact point of a retainer structure provides the necessary locking force for keeping the canopy pivot locked and for allowing it to unlock when a person pulls the canopy frame to pivot the canopy about the canopy pivot.
Abstract:
Complementary portions arranged in opposed relationship comprising inflexible short segments having inner straight edges, and rolled long segments fitting spaced apart notches on each of said portions, and a pivot pin extending through passages defined by said rolled long segments.
