    摘要： A door closer comprises a piston cooperating with a rotating pinion. Upon rotation of the pinion in the door opening direction, the piston moves toward the second end of the housing forcing fluid from a second variable volume chamber through a passage to a first variable volume chamber and compressing a spring assembly for storing energy. The spring assembly urges the piston toward the first end of the housing for forcing fluid from the first variable volume chamber to the second variable volume chamber and rotating the pinion in the door closing direction. A controller controls the position of a valve in the passage based on the sensed angular position of a door and the position of the valve for determining the amount of hydraulic fluid flowing through the valve.

Locking mechanisms 27, 28, and 29, that—when the door is opened—lock the opening spring 22 under an opening-force-storing condition. An unlocking mechanisms 23 and 24 that—when the door is closed—unlock the locking mechanisms. The closer 11a and the door-opening-assistance device 1b are inside the same case 6 and interlinked by the opening of the door.

    摘要： Closer arm assembly includes a main arm having a first end fixed to the output shaft of a closer fixed to one of a door and a door jamb so that the main arm pivots when the output shaft rotates, and a connecting arm having a first end pivotably connected to the main arm and a second end connected to the other of the door and the door jamb. The connecting arm contacts a stop to limit relative pivoting of the arms, the stop including a cushion with a contact surface which suppresses noise as the connecting arm contacts the cushion. The stop can be in the form of a spring loaded bumper fixed to a soffit plate, or a pin fixed to the second end of the main arm. A hold open device can be fixed to the connecting arm for engaging a feature on either the soffit plate or the main arm, the hold open device having a spring loaded detent which is released by manually turning a knob.

    摘要： A door closer power adjusting device for a door closer having a spindle driven by a compressed spring with a movable plate for adjusting spring compression, or with a screw for adjusting spring compression, between a high and low level of compression. A powered unit moves the plate in a first direction to achieve the low level of compression and in a second direction to achieve the high level of compression. A switch activates the powered unit in the first direction and a first switch is engaged when the spring is compressed to the low level of compression to deactivate the powered unit. A timing circuit activates the powered unit in a second direction after passage of a predetermined time. A second switch is engaged when the spring is compressed to the high level of compression to deactivate the powered unit.
