Abstract:
A cutting tool has cartridges in which cutting inserts may be retained. The location of each cartridge is adjustable by a bidirectional adjustment mechanism having an adjustment screw directed in the direction of adjustment. The adjustment screw has a head and a flexible flange with an annular recess therebetween. A protuberance projecting from the cartridge engages the annular recess with an interference fit thereby coupling the adjustment screw to the cartridge. As the adjustment screw is screw rotated about its axis of screw rotation it moves along the axis of screw rotation taking the cartridge with it. Screw rotation of the adjustment screw in opposite senses results in the adjustment of the position of the cartridge in opposite directions. Due to the fact that the protuberance is firmly located in the annular recess of the adjustment screw, play or backlash is eliminated.
Abstract:
A tool cassette having a receptacle for an interchangeable cutting insert, wherein at least one setting element for setting the position of the tool cassette with respect to a seat for the cassette of a carrier tool is provided on the tool cassette.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a milling cutter head having a plurality of blade holders (11) which are inserted into recesses of a parent body (10) and on which respective blades (12) are brazed in position. According to the invention, at least one blade (12) is angled and has a longer section (c), lying radially on the outside with respect to the axis of the milling cutter head, and a shorter section (b) which lies radially on the inside and is angled at 3° to 7°, preferably 5°.
Abstract:
A milling cutter for machining work pieces, which comprises at least one cutting insert, fixed in a recess of the tool base and adjusted by means of an adjusting element. The abstract of the disclosure is submitted herewith as required by 37 C.F.R. §1.72(b). As stated in 37 C.F.R. §1.72(b): A brief abstract of the technical disclosure in the specification must commence on a separate sheet, preferably following the claims, under the heading “Abstract of the Disclosure.” The purpose of the abstract is to enable the Patent and Trademark Office and the public generally to determine quickly from a cursory inspection the nature and gist of the technical disclosure. The abstract shall not be used for interpreting the scope of the claims. Therefore, any statements made relating to the abstract are not intended to limit the claims in any manner and should not be interpreted as limiting the claims in any manner.
Abstract:
A tool for the fine machining of workpieces having at least one cutter tip and at least one setting device acting on the cutter tip. The setting device comprises an adjusting element extending over a region of one side face of the cutter tip. A set screw displaces the adjusting element relative to the cutter tip at least one radially and axially with respect to the body. This moves the cutter tip at least one of radially and axially with respect to the body of the tool. A second adjusting element operably by a second setting device may be provided to act on a second side face of the cutter tip.
Abstract:
A face milling cutter or angular milling cutter, with a carrier body which on its periphery at regularly or irregularly distributed distances comprises pockets which extend parallel to the rotational axis of the carrier body for accommodating cassettes which for their part comprise seating surfaces for receiving cutting plates, with a fastening device for the cutting plates in the cassette, with a screw fastening for fixing the cassettes in the pockets and with adjusting screws for a limited axial adjustment of the cassettes in the pockets, wherein the adjusting screws are seated in threaded bores of the carrier body, which proceeding from the end-face of the carrier body are arranged approximately parallel to the rotational axis of the carrier body.
Abstract:
A broaching tool has at least one adjustable cutting blade or plate. A two-fold adjustment is possible by mounting each cutting blade on an upper section of an insert mounted in a recess of a support or support ring sector. The upper insert section is secured to a lower insert section. The lower insert section is radially adjustable. The upper insert section is axially adjustable. Each adjustment can be made independently of the other adjustment.
Abstract:
In a milling tool with a disc-shaped base member 1 having a central securement bore 2 and provided, in the region of its outer periphery, with equidistantly spaced retainer cutouts open towards the front face of the base member, for receiving and for retaining the respective cutting plate support 4, which is adapted and fixedly secured in the respective retainer cutout 3 for selective adjustment both in an axial as well as, independently therefrom, in a radial direction. Each support 4 carries a cutting plate 6 or 62 whose main plane is disposed generally radially. In order to enable the adjustability of each plate by pivoting same about an imaginary axis perpendicular to the central axis of the base member in addition to and independent of the adjustments in axial and radial directions, the cutter plate is arranged in a cutout 10 of a cutter plate spacer 11 which is complementary in shape with the shape of the plate, the spacer, in turn, being adapted for turning on the cutter plate support 4 about an imaginary axis generally perpendicular to a radial plane of coincidence of the central axis 5 of the base member, the spacer being adapted for becoming selectively secured relative to the cutting plate support 4. With advantage, the milling tool is so formed that each cutting plate support 4 is displacable and fixable in a generally radial direction on a respective support member 36 and that each support member 36 is guided and secured to the base member (1) for displacement and securement in a direction parallel to the central axis 5 of the base member 1, relatively to the same.
Abstract:
The turning tool has a disc-shaped base element 1 connectable to the spindle of a lathe and four toolholders 6, 7, each with one or more cutting plate supports 12, adjustable radially relative to the rotary axis (D-D), clampable with an adjusting screw 25, and carrying a cutting plate 23. The base element 1 has a housing bore parallel to the axis (D-D) of rotation to receive a cylindrical shank 5 of each toolholder 6 or 7. Each toolholder 6, 7 has an axial adjusting screw 14 screwable parallel to the rotary axis D-D. A pin 8 in the shank 5 cooperates with an axial groove 9 and is fixed by means of a screw 10 cooperating with a recess 11 in the pin 8 to clamp the shank 5 in the adjusted axial position. Different cutting plate supports 12a, 12b and 12c can be used to enable a variety of machining operations to be carried out.
Abstract:
The cutter blades of the cutter heads of the present machine are supported in such a manner that they may be quickly and accurately adjusted for varying the cutting depth of the cutter blades. The cutter blades are supported in groove-shaped receptacles equally spaced around the cutter head and means is provided for adjustably supporting and positively locking the cutter blades in the desired adjusted position in the groove-shaped receptacles. An adjusting plate is fixed to the cutter blade by mating sawtoothlike grooves to provide a primary adjustment of the cutter blades. The adjustment plate including a guide surface which includes a gradient component extending in at least one adjustment direction of the cutting blade so that secondary adjustments may be made to the position of the cutter blade.
