    摘要: A drill of the loose top type, which is composed of a basic body and a replaceable loose top. In the front end of the basic body, a jaw is formed, which is delimited by two elastically bendable branches and an intermediate axial support surface, and in which the loose top can be securely pinched by inner support surfaces of the branches being resiliently pressed against side contact surfaces of the loose top. The two side contact surfaces of the loose top extend rearward from clearance surfaces that are included in the front end of the loose top. By forming the diametrical dimension between opposite side contact surfaces greater nearer the front end of the loose top, the branches of the jaw securely pinch the loose top in the area of the front ends thereof, where the branches have their maximal bending capacity.

    摘要: A rotatable tool for chip removing machining includes a drill shank, and an exchangeable loose top mounted at an axially front end of the shank. Between these there is a coupling, which includes a male part on the loose top, and a groove in the basic body. By means of a slot, two deflectable legs are defined by the shank, which legs form a jaw for receiving and clamping the male part. The maximal width of the jaw upon deflection of the legs away from one another is larger than the maximal breadth of a wedge portion included in the male part. Furthermore, the angles of inclination of flank surfaces on the male part and side surfaces in the groove, are equally large in order to guarantee surface contact between said surfaces, when the legs are resiliently tightened against the male part. The wedge portion is of dovetail shape, wherein the loose top is drawn axially against the shank as it is being radially clamped by the legs.

    摘要: A rotatable tool for chip removing machining includes two parts, viz. a holder part, rotatable around a geometrical center axis, and a replaceable cutting part, which is rigidly connectable to a front end of the holder part via a male/female coupling. The coupling includes a tapering seat in the holder part and a tapering male member, protruding rearwardly from the cutting part. In the seat, there is a slot, which separates two elastically deflectable projections, that may be inwardly deflected towards each other during clamping of the male member in the seat. The male member is elongated in a radial direction, and the seat is in the form of a radial groove into and out of which the sheath body is transversely movable. The male member includes a dove-tail shaped portion received in a dove-tail shaper portion of the groove. A centering button on the male member enters a depression in the holder part to axially center the cutting part.

    摘要: A replaceable cutting head is adapted for co-axial coupling thereof, along a coupling axis, with a tool shank in a self-clamping fashion. Both the cutting head and the tool shank have a mounting portion comprising a centering section and a positioning section. The centering section is formed with a peripheral centering surface which extends circumferentially with respect to the coupling axis and has a substantially conical shape at least at two portions thereof. The positioning section has at least two peripherally disposed and circumferentially extending and spaced apart positioning surfaces adapted for the provision of an axial support of the cutting head on the tool shank. Each positioning surface is inclined with respect to the coupling axis so that an axial distance therefrom to a broad end of the peripheral centering surface increases in a direction generally corresponding to the direction of cutting forces acting on the cutting edge during a cutting operation. One of the positioning and centering sections is formed with at least two circumferentially spaced apart fixation wings with, respectively, either the positioning surfaces and or the portions of the centering surface belonging thereto.

The drill is made of two separate parts, namely a cutting bit of hollow generally cylindrical form having an annular cutting edge at one end, and a hollow cylindrical sleeve which receives the opposite end portion of the bit and which is itself received in a collet assembly of a drill spindle of the machine. The sleeve is radially compressible and is compressed by the collet assembly to frictionally grip the bit and permit transmission of drilling torque from the drill spindle to the bit in use.
