摘要： The present disclosure provides a method for assessing hot coal fallout propensity of burning cigarettes based on human behavior features of ash-tapping action. The method is characterized in that the method is accomplished through an apparatus for detecting hot coal fallout propensity based on human behavior features of ash-tapping action, which include behavior features of human action of tapping cigarette ash, features of holding a cigarette, and features of force applying process and other aspects. This method can provide objective and accurate test basis for evaluation of cigarette fallout performance.

摘要： A smoker's accessory for filtering sidestream smoke emitted from a burning cigarette comprises an exhaust fan mounted in a central unit and a sidestream smoke filter cartridge having a cigarette tube for a burning cigarette, is placed is provided alongside the central component. The filter cartridge is provided in a housing which is connected to the central fan support. The cigarette tube is as long as a cigarette and has a diameter of at least 1.5 times the diameter of the cigarette. A porous low pressure drop filter element is provided at the end of the cigarette tube for removing sidestream smoke. The housing has a front end wall in which the cigarette holder with the cigarette to be positioned. A fresh air inlet is provided which permits the fan to draw fresh air inside the cigarette tube along the cigarette and pick up the sidestream smoke from the lit cigarette for purposes of drawing through the filter cartridge before release to the surroundings. The smoker's accessory may optionally be provided with an exhale filter so that both sidestream smoke and exhale smoke is filtered before release to the surroundings. The filters are high efficient, low pressure drop filters which ensure there is minimal, if any, detectable traces of cigarette smoke released to the surroundings.

摘要： A cigarette or cigar fire safety apparatus. A fulcrum and a lumped or distributed counterbalancing mass are made integral components of conventional cigarettes and cigars in such a manner that the lighted end of the smoking material is tilted up and out of contact with combustible, essentially horizontal surfaces upon which the lighted materials happen to accidentally be dropped or mistakenly placed. The fulcrum/weighted end combination also reduces the tendency of the cylindrical smoking materials to roll. Furthermore, the fulcrum is collapsable. In another embodiment of the invention, a series of coaxial extensions are placed at various positions along the surface of a cylindrical smoking material whereby the smoking material is kept away from such flammable surfaces by the action of these extensions. As the extensions fall away from the smoking material or are consumed as the combustion process passes their position of attachment, the distance from the surface is maintained or increased until the next to last extension is released from the smoking material. At this point, the lighted end of the smoking material tips up about the last of the extensions which acts as a fulcrum thereby. The placement of the last extension is chosen such that the nonlighted end of the smoking material has greater torque than the remaining lighted poriton. The operation of the present invention is improved if the material between the fulcrum or last extension and the unlighted end of the smoking material does not readily support combustion. The integral design of the invention frees the user from having to remember to install the fire safety device.

The first chamber defined by the space between a perforated tubular member, concentrically situated around a perforated inner tubular member, and the inner tubular member. The second and third chambers are within the inner tubular member, substantially coaxially aligned and separated by a wall having an aperture to transfer ash from the second chamber to the third chamber.
