    摘要： A combination chair/bed furniture and method of using. The furniture includes a support frame system and a multi-fold cushion assembly adapted to be supported by a frame of the support frame system. The cushion assembly includes folded cushions that define a seat cushion supported by the frame in a chair configuration of the furniture and when extended defines a mattress supported by the frame and at least one mattress support frame of the support frame system in a bed configuration of the furniture. A seat back is supported by the frame in the chair configuration of the furniture and serves as a headboard or additional mattress in the bed configuration.

    摘要： A modular wall proximity reclining/tilt chair and method for assembling it are disclosed. The modular wall proximity reclining/tilt chair includes a simplified actuation mechanism which significantly reduces system complexity and weight while providing improved comfort to the seat occupant. The construction is such that the pre-assembled actuation mechanism is integrally suspended from and interdependent with box-like modular frame components. In this manner, the frame components can be upholstered prior to final assembly with the actuation mechanism.

    摘要： A mounting apparatus for securing a plurality of independent seating sections together to form a modular sofa assembly. Each of the independent seating sections has lower front and rear end portions which include front and rear cross bars, respectively. A first elongated frame rail secures to each of the rear cross bars when the independent seating sections are placed closely adjacent each other in a side-by-side configuration. A second elongated frame rail similarly attaches to the front cross bars of each chair seating section when the seating section are positioned closely adjacent each other in a side-by-side configuration. The first and second elongated frame rails are removably secured to the cross bars preferably via threaded screws and can therefore be attached quickly and easily if the sofa is to be disassembled and moved. The apparatus thus greatly facilitates the shipping and handling of independent seating sections which are intended to be coupled together to form a modular sofa by enabling each seating section to be shipped separately and then removably coupled together via the first and second elongated frame rails.The first and second elongated frame rails each include a plurality of elongated apertures which significantly serve to introduce a degree of adjustability into the mounting apparatus to enable it to secure seating sections comprising varying thicknesses of fabric and padding in a side-by-side arrangement while maintaining a desired spacing between sections

    摘要： Seating apparatus is disclosed which is adapted to provide a forward or rearward facing seat or a bed in a camper type vehicle. The inventive seating apparatus may be used as a forward passenger seat in a van type camper vehicle which has a rear seat with a bed conversion capability similar to that of the seating apparatus of this invention. When the two seats are converted to the bed orientation the combination provides a full sized bed. When desired the rear seat is erected to its forward facing orientation and the seating apparatus of this invention may also be used in the forward facing seat orientation. Alternatively, the forward seat may be reversed so that the seats are in face to face to relation and a table may be placed therebetween for a dining arrangement. The seating apparatus of this invention provides reversibility of the seat from forward facing to rearward facing and mechanism is disclosed which provides the desired seat bottom rake in both orientations and also provides shifting of the cushions so they occupy the same relative position to each other and the base in either orientation. Additionally, the mechanism is effective when the seat is converted to the bed orientation to eliminate the rake of the seat bottom and to draw the cushions together and thus provide a flat continuous mattress surface.
