    摘要: An oral suction device provides an oral suction screen over the oral cavity of a patient by providing upper and lower suction wings attached to a manifold. The wings are inserted between the upper and lower lips and arches of a patient, respectively, and serve to capture aerosols which would otherwise be ejected from the oral cavity. A tongue/cheek retractor, also in pneumatic communication with the manifold, serves to extract saliva and other products from the oral cavity while also preventing the tongue and cheeks from ingress of the workspace for the dental procedure.

    摘要: A device, and method of using same, to evacuate aerosols generated proximate to teeth of a patient during dental procedures, including a central housing having a proximal end and a distal end. The proximal end defines a proximal housing opening and the distal end defines a distal housing opening having a first open area. The housing defines (i) at least one housing side port on each side of the housing and (ii) at least one internal passage in fluid communication with the distal housing opening, the proximal housing opening, and the housing side ports. The proximal end of the housing is shaped to be connectable to a conduit for a source of negative pressure. The device further includes a right-side cheek retractor and a left-side cheek retractor, each retractor defining a concave buccal-side surface, a convex oral-side surface, a retractor chamber, and at least a first arc of retractor openings (i) positioned along a portion of the oral-side surface, (ii) communicating with the retractor chamber, and (iii) having a first distribution of total open area along that retractor. A right-side arm extends between the housing and the right-side cheek retractor to support the right-side cheek retractor at a substantially fixed distance from the housing, and a left-side arm extends between the housing and the left-side cheek retractor to support the left-side cheek retractor at a substantially fixed distance from the housing. At least one right-side passageway connects one of the housing side ports with the retractor chamber of the right-side cheek retractor, and at least one left-side passageway connecting one of the housing side ports with the retractor chamber of the left-side cheek retractor.

The flap retractor may be formed of a tapered extended edge or tab, which can be made in various lengths and include a beveled edge. A suction mechanism may be added for eliminating fluids. The neck region may contain an S-shaped bend or lateral bends for better operative functionality and ergonomics. The proximal end of the handle region, opposite the operational unit, may further include any useful apparatus, such as a periosteal elevator or periosteal retractor.

    摘要: The present invention involves an intraoral illumination device and method for illuminating the interior cavity of a patient's mouth during a medical procedure. The illumination device includes a bite block adapted to be engaged by a patient's teeth for resting the patient's jaw during the medical procedure and fixing the bite block within the patient's mouth. An arcuate light dispersion piece is connected to the bite block so that, in use, the light dispersion piece is orientated in a rear, central part of the oral cavity of the patient's mouth so that dispersed light can be transmitted outward from the rear, central part of the oral cavity. A tongue and cheek retractor is adapted to retract and protect the patient's tongue and adjacent cheek tissue during the medical procedure. Multiple fluid evacuation channels are carried by the device and are adapted to communicate with the interior cavity of the patient's mouth for removing fluids from the oral cavity during the medical procedure.

    摘要: A dental isolation tray has an outer side wall, an inner side wall, and a roof which joins the inner and outer side walls. An aspiration conduit having spaced apart aspiration ports is molded into the peripheral edges of the side walls and into the interface between the interior side wall and the roof. An aspiration coupling is provided for fluidly connecting the aspiration conduit with a suction tube. A portion of the roof and outer side wall is pre-cut to expose the occlusal and buccal aspects of preselected teeth. An adjustable bite block is mounted on or adjacent to the roof of the tray and extends substantially perpendicular to the roof of the tray. The full arch tray may have one or two quadrants cut-out and may be placed on either the upper or the lower arch to completely cover the arch and associated alveolar ridge. A single quadrant tray may be formed as either a left hand tray or a right hand tray and can also be placed over either upper or lower arches. The tray is dimensioned to provide relatively generous spacing between the side walls and the teeth so that the lingual aspect of the teeth which are exposed by the cut-out are accessible while still being isolated from the patient's tongue.
