    Abstract: A gate assembly for a bicycle race start includes a plurality of gates, each mounted in a separate start position along a bar to move between a closed position and an open position. The bar is moveable between a first condition and a second condition. The assembly includes buttresses, each coupled to the bar to move between first positions and second positions in response to movement of the bar between the first condition and the second condition, wherein each buttress corresponds to a respective one of the gates. In the first condition of the bar, each buttress disables movement of the respective gate from the closed position to the open position. In the second condition of the bar, each buttress enables movement of the respective gate from the closed position to the open position.

    Abstract: A track start wedge includes a housing, a ratchet gear assembly, and a locking pawl assembly. The ratchet gear assembly is disposed at least partially within the housing and includes a bar, a pinion gear at each end of the bar, and a ratchet gear between the ends of the bar. The locking pawl assembly is coupled to the housing and includes a locking pawl disengageably coupled to the ratchet gear and a spring operable to bias the locking pawl into engagement with the ratchet gear. The ratchet gear assembly is configured to rotate in unison in a first direction toward a front of the housing and a second direction toward a rear of the housing, but the locking pawl prevents rotation of the ratchet gear in the second direction when the locking pawl is engaged with the ratchet gear.

    Abstract: A starting block lock having a clamp, top and bottom locking wedges, and a rod is provided. The clamp includes top and bottom portions each having an inside surface and a body between the top and bottom portions. The body includes a cylindrical bore extending on a longitudinal axis between the top and bottom portions. The top and bottom locking wedges each include an outer surface, an inner surface, a side surface, and an aperture extending between and through the outer and inner surfaces. At least a portion of each of the side surfaces slidably contact the inside surface of the clamp. The rod extends through the apertures and the cylindrical bore and is configured rotate in a first direction to linearly displace the top and bottom locking wedges toward each other thereby providing an outward force against the inside surfaces of the clamp to expand the clamp.

    Abstract: This invention is a slip resistant diving platform cover that can be easily installed or removed from a diving platform. The cover has a top mat laying in contact and covering a top plate of the diving platform, a front mat laying adjacent to a front plate of the diving platform, and a rear mat laying adjacent to a rear plate of the diving platform. These three mats are fastened to the diving platform by a U-shaped front clamp and a U-shaped rear clamp. Both clamps provide a screw means for engagement with the cover and the platform. The front clamp further provides a hinged leg bonded to an interior surface of the cover enabling permanent attachment thereto. The hinged leg preferably has a first portion that is attached to the top mat and a second portion which is attached to the front mat so that the front mat and the top mat may be rotated to an angle appropriate to conforming with the front and top plates of the platform.
