摘要： Described is an oil filtration apparatus that includes external vanes 120 and associated outer flow passages 140 for allowing a heat exchange to occur between oil passing therein and cool air that passes by the vanes. A manually rotatable valve 154 is provided at one end of the filtration apparatus for controlling the flow of oil through the manifold. In a first position, the valve allows oil to flow through the outer flow passages through the end cap 152 and into an inner flow passage 142 where it is filtered before flowing through a central passage 134 and out the flow manifold. In a second position, the outer flow passages are blocked so that oil flows directly into the inner flow passage. A pressure sensitive valve 164 is provided in the end cap so that when the filter becomes clogged, oil is diverted directly to the central flow passage bypassing the filter. In a second embodiment, a rotatable valve cap 34 is provided on an end of the apparatus opposite the flow manifold and each of the outer flow passages 28 extends through a peripheral sidewall along one of the external vanes 26.

摘要： An apparatus for the separation and purification of a mixture of gases, liquids or powders. The apparatus can be used for separating portions of the mixture such as desalting a seawater mixture or obtaining hot and cold without Freon. The apparatus includes a compressor or ventilator for moving the mixture through a spiral pipe or cavity, offshoots and heat exchangers or reservoirs. When the apparatus includes heat exchangers the heat exchangers are for heating and cooling the surrounding environment. The heat exchanger for heating the surrounding environment does so by receiving a relatively hotter portion of the mixture. The heat exchanger for cooling the surrounding environment does so by receiving a relatively cooler portion of the mixture. When the apparatus includes reservoirs the reservoirs are for holding separated portions of the mixture.

摘要： A tubular reactor characterized by having short static mixing elements separated by coalescing zones is used to conduct multiphase liquid/liquid reactions. Small droplets of one of the phases are dispersed into the other phase by the static mixing elements. These droplets coalesce and at least partially phase separate as the mixture passes through the subsequent coalescing zone. The tubular reactor is particularly suitable for nitrating organic compounds while forming low levels of improperly nitrated by-products and low levels of nitrophenolics.

摘要： A method of removing silicone oils from waste water generated by a silicones manufacturing plant including the step of centrifuging the waste water to concentrate silicone oil contaminated solids while removing the silicone oils. The silicone oil contaminated solids are then dried in a continuously mixed sludge dryer to remove more silicone oils from the sludge to form a sludge product which comprises at least 10% water and a low silicone oil concentration.

摘要： A collector cup for the collection and removal of the low-mass particles that exit from a plasma mass filter includes a cylindrical shaped wall, an internally cooled. getter plate and a plurality of internally cooled baffles. The baffles are concentrically mounted and are attached to the inside of the cylindrical wall, between the getter plate and the plasma mass filter thereby creating an enclosed volume that is defined by the getter plate, the baffles and the cylinder wall. Entryways are formed between the baffles to allow the gas formed at the baffles to enter the enclosed volume. When the ions and electrons exit from the filter, they collide with the cooler baffles, ano combine to form neutral atoms and vaporize. Once formed, the gas can pass through the entryways and into the enclosed volume where it can be condensed onto the surface of the temperature controlled getter plate. Once condensed onto the surface of the getter plate, the condensed molecules may combine with each other to form larger molecules and solidify. After accumulation, this solid can be periodically removed from the getter plate surface as a liquid by heating the plate to the liquidus temperature of the solid. Additional oxygen or sodium can be introduced into the enclosed volume from a secondary source to combine with any unreacted molecules on the getter plate surface.
