The cup feed assembly includes a chute assembly, a rotatable feeder disk assembly, and a cup locator. The chute assembly includes a transfer chute. The transfer chute includes an outer second side member, a first end and a second end. The transfer chute first end is in communication with the feeder chute outlet end. The outer second side member at the transfer chute second end includes a first biasing device. The cup locator defines a holding space, the holding space in communication with the transfer chute second end. The feeder disk assembly is structured to move a cup disposed at feeder chute outlet end through the transfer chute into the cup locator. The first biasing device is structured to maintain a cup in the holding space.

摘要： A retractable stock guide has a stationary guide rail on which a retractable guide cap is operably supported. The guide rail and cap have two through holes at opposite ends through which two mounting studs extend to attach the stock guide to an associated die member. The holes in the guide cap are ovate, and the heads of the mounting studs are tapered, whereby tightening of the mounting stud shifts the guide cap relative to the guide rail from an aligned, retracted load/unload condition, to an inwardly protruding, extended run condition, wherein the stock strip is slidingly captured between two like stock guides and the mounting surface of the die. Two ball bearing guides can be substituted for the stationary guide rail.

摘要： Apparatus for forming elongated metal cans from relatively short cups by utilizing a reciprocating ram to drive the cups one at a time through a die pack, is provided with a continuously rotating feeder that transfers the cups from the exit of a gravity feed chute to a receiving station where each cup is indexed for engagement by the ram as it moves forward in its working stroke. The feeder rotates through one complete revolution for each forward-return cycle of the ram and during each revolution thereof a pocket in the feeder receives a cup from the chute, which cup then moves downstream through a guideway to a receiving station. Prior to being seated in a registry formation at the receiving station, the cup is engaged by a stripper that removes the cup from the feeder pocket. The feeder continues to drive the cup toward the registry formation while the cup is being stripped from the feeder pocket. A tensioner device and a formation on the feeder maintain the cup seated fully on the registry formation during the initial engagement of the cup by the ram while the latter moves forward in its working stroke.

It includes a pipe (1) for conveying the bushings (6), said pipe being divided into branches (8, 9, 10, 11) each of which communicates with a bore (28, 28') provided in a first moving part of the press (2), push rods being linked to the stationary part of the press (2), which push rods can each be inserted in one of said bores (28, 28') during the translation movement of said moving part, studs being provided on a second moving part of the press (2) and each being disposed adjacent to one of said bores so that firstly, before moulding when the press is closed by the translation movement of the two moving parts such that they abut against the stationary part of the press (2), the push rods push a bushing (6) into each bore (28, 28') until the bushing mates with the stud and secondly, after moulding when the press (2) is opened, another bushing ( 6) drops by gravity into the bore at the end of said push rod.The invention is used in connection with the containers and covers of storage batteries.

摘要： A foil loading mechanism for use with an injection moulding machine producing containers having foil side wall, the mechanism comprises a body forming the peripheral wall of a cavity for receiving and retaining a foil in deformed condition, an aperture in the wall extending longitudinally of the cavity, guide means for guiding a foil into a position overlying the aperture and means for driving a foil overlying the aperture through the aperture and into the cavity. The foil in the cavity is then driven from the cavity in a longitudinal direction into a female mould cavity in register with the loaded cavity. Thereafter the male core is inserted into the female cavity and material injected into the mould cavity defined therebetween.
