    摘要: A method of cutting a workpiece with a band saw is disclosed herein. The method includes rotating, with a band saw machine, a blade about a central longitudinal axis. The method also includes moving, with the band saw machine, the blade and a workpiece relative to the other to form a cut in the workpiece. The method also includes supporting a back edge of the blade at a first position before a lateral entry position of the cut or a second position after a lateral exit position of the cut with a first back support member. The method also includes extending an extension arm of the first back support member to shift the back edge a first distance rectilinearly along the central longitudinal axis toward the workpiece, wherein the shifting is cumulative to rectilinear movement from the moving.

    摘要: A sawmill comprising first and second clamp members for clampingly engaging opposite sides of a log or log cant. A trolley includes the second clamp member. For moving the trolley cross-wise of the sawmill base, a threaded rotatable rod, to which a handle is attached, extends cross-wise of the base. The trolley includes a pair of walls which have a pair of aligned vertically oblong apertures respectively for receiving the rod. A half nut is fixedly attached to a bottom of one of the apertures and has threads which mate with threads on the rod so that the rod can threadedly engage the half nut. The apertures are sized such that the trolley can be tilted so that the threads of the rod and the half nut can be disengaged and the trolley slid along the rod to an approximate position for clampingly engaging the second clamp member to the log or log cant, then, with the trolley positioned upright and the threads of the rod and the half nut re-engaged, the handle can be turned to apply clamping force by the second clamp member to the log or log cant.

    摘要: An edge band fine trimming mechanism of an edge banding machine includes a fixed seat, and a lateral feeler wheel, a top feeler wheel set and a scraper, which are disposed on the fixed seat. The lateral feeler wheel is rotatably disposed on the fixed seat. The top feeler wheel set includes a fixing member adjustably disposed on the fixed seat, and first and second top feeler wheels disposed separately, both rotatably disposed on the fixing member and located at a same predetermined height. The scraper is located between the lateral feeler wheel and the top feeler wheel set for trimming an edge of an edge band of a workpiece. Even though the workpiece has a hole, the scraper is positionally maintainable by the top feeler wheel set, that effectively reduces appearance defects of the end edge of the edge band caused in the edge trimming process.

    摘要: A mechanized coping saw has a frame and handle attached thereto, the frame including a U-shaped portion with opposite leg sections having outward ends, a cavity formed within the U-shaped portion, and apertures proximate the outward ends of the leg sections which open into the cavity. An endless blade travels through the cavity of the U-shaped portion around rotating elements with a portion of the blade extending straight between the leg sections to define an exposed blade cutting section, A power drive system drives the blade through the cavity. The invention uses a pair of guide rollers which are placed along the profiled edge of a molding piece to steadily guide the blade cutting section for precise coping of the molding piece. The rollers are adjustable to provide for a variety of different cutting angles and situations. Another embodiment utilizes an elongated arced guide arm to extend longitudinally along the exposed blade cutting section for guiding and steadying the blade, Another embodiment includes a blade section cover pivotally mounted to move outwardly from the blade cutting section to expose the blade during coping.
