摘要： In train printers utilizing a ''''universal'''' or ''''soft'''' translate buffer wherein the code representations for the characters on the type train may be changed or reprogrammed by reloading the translate buffer, an efficient way of determining whether each character code being received represents a character in the type train being utilized is to use the character code as an address to a read/write memory which stores a logic 1 in all locations that are addressed by valid character codes and a logic 0 in all other or invalid character code locations. The output from this memory, each time it is addressed is utilized to activate a selector to pass either the incoming character code or an invalid character code from an invalid character code register, depending on whether the memory output was a logic 1 or a logic 0, respectively.

摘要： Light pulses in the form of selected character images are retained by a luminescent layer which is activated by the illuminated portion of a superimposed photoconductive layer onto which the character images are projected. Due to feedback from the luminescent layer to the photoconductive layer, the character image is retained for viewing as long as a voltage is applied to the superimposed layers. The character is also projected onto a record carrier which receives a light pulse only when a shutter is operated after the correctness of the selected character has been determined by viewing the character image, which is then erased.

摘要： An image processing device includes: (1) a scanner unit for inputting image data; (2) an image memory for storing the image data; (3) a machine control board for confirming the characteristics of the image data; (4) a binary image processing section for performing image processing with respect to the image data; (5) an operation key group for setting a processing mode of the binary image processing section; and (6) a main-CPU for managing (i) the characteristics of each image data confirmed by the machine control board and (ii) a processing mode set by the operation key group, as management information, with reference to the corresponding image data stored in the image memory. The binary image processing section performs image processing with respect to the image data according to the management information managed by the main-CPU. Since the image data is processed according to its management information managed in the management table, it is possible to manage the image processing so that appropriate image processing is applied to each inputted image data, and that time-wasting image processing is not applied to image data improperly inputted.

摘要： A parity check device for code combinations comprising a plurality of binary code units. The device includes a plurality of elements which are shiftable between a pair of positions in response to the positioning of a corresponding binary code member. An indicator is provided for signalling whenever the positions of the elements are not in parity with a predetermined code combination. The signal may be given, for example, in response to the presence of an odd (or even as the case may be) number of ones.

摘要： A method and apparatus for correction of texts for use in photographic composing machines involving identifying the lines of the text in clear form and on perforated tape, placing the corrected lines with identification on perforated tape, and substituting corrected lines for original lines with same identification sign through use of coincidence detector connected to both the original tape reader and the corrected tape reader. When lines are eliminated or added, a sequence counter reestablishes logical sequencing of the lines on the revised text. Identification signs can then be removed and the text, in clear form, used in photographic composing machines.
