Abstract:
A sheet-fed printing press includes a printing section for printing on sheets of paper fed from a sheet feeding section, and a surface treating section for treating surfaces of the sheets of paper by pressing transfer films respectively onto the sheets of paper printed at the printing section. The surface treating section includes a downstream cylinder having a gripper for gripping each of the sheets of paper fed from an upstream cylinder for conveying the sheets of paper printed and fed thereto, and a film transfer mechanism that presses the transfer films respectively onto the sheets of paper on the downstream cylinder while at the same time conveying the transfer films in the same direction as the direction of the downstream cylinder.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a digital printing machine for sheet printing with a digital printing mechanism with free format in the peripheral direction, an intermediate cylinder which is connected downstream of the digital printing mechanism and is at least partially coated with an elastic material, and a counterpressure cylinder which is connected downstream of the intermediate cylinder, wherein the counterpressure cylinder has grippers holding the sheet and the intermediate cylinder periphery is provided with recesses for receiving the grippers.
Abstract:
A quality control device includes a suction box, at least one gripper which can be displaced along a suction surface of the suction box, and a CCD camera. A belt, which can be displaced in a sheet transport direction, is disposed on the suction surface of the suction box.
Abstract:
A drive system for an oscillating gripper of a sheet-fed printing machine has a main drive train and a controlled drive. The pregripper is mechanically coupled to the main drive train. The controlled drive supplies energy required to drive the pregripper in accordance with a position of the pregripper. The controlled drive at least approximately meets the discontinuous energy requirement of the pregripper.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus that uses chain delivery system to deliver printed sheets to one of two sheet stacks is disclosed. The sheets are grasped by chain gripper systems and are transported along an upper chain strand. A transfer cylinder is positioned in the path of sheet travel between the two sheet stacks. Sheets destined for the second sheet stack are removed from the upper chain strand by the transfer cylinder and delivered to the second sheet stack by a lower chain strand.
Abstract:
Swivelling pre-gripper of a sheet-fed printing press having a sheet feeding table includes a swivel arm; a gripper carried by the swivel arm; a mutually cooperating roller lever and cam mechanism for, respectively, opening and closing the gripper; a device for cyclically swivelling the swivel arm of the pre-gripper to and away from the sheet feeding table; a device for cyclically opening and closing the gripper; a device for setting an instant of opening of the gripper for releasing a sheet gripped by the gripper in a closed condition thereof to a downline conveying device for accepting and transporting the released sheet; a device for setting, in a manner decoupled from the setting of the instant of opening, an instant of closing the gripper for gripping the sheet fed from the feeding table to the pre-gripper; one of the devices for setting the instant of opening and for setting the instant of closing of the gripper being disposed on the roller lever; and the other of the devices for setting the instant of closing and for setting the instant of opening of the gripper forming part of the cam mechanism for, respectively, opening and closing the gripper; and method for setting gripper opening and closing instants of the pre-gripper.
Abstract:
A sheet reversing assembly for a rotary printing press utilizes one or more arcuately and radially movable gripper assemblies on an impression cylinder to elevate a gripped leading edge of a sheet to be reversed. As the trailing edge of the sheet is engaged by suction grippers on a reversing drum, air blast jets in the vicinity of the abutment surface of the gripper assembly direct air under pressure between the sheet and the surface of the impression cylinder.
Abstract:
A resilient sheet gripper for a sheet-fed rotary printing press having a gripper shaft to which is secured a pivoting clamping member in resilient relationship with a pivoted gripper finger having adjustable biasing provided by compression spring means, is provided including an adjusting screw mounted in a stop strip, an abutment for contacting the screw mounted for movement around the gripper shaft, a guide pin fixed to the abutment and disposed in a biased conical sleeve in the gripper finger so that the finger can move perpendicular to a gripper support upon closure of the gripper finger.
Abstract:
An assembly of a sheet-transfer drum, a sheet-turning drum and a storage drum located therebetween for transporting a sheet between individual printing units of a rotary printing press includes a change-over mechanism for converting the printing press from single-side sheet printing to double-side perfector printing and conversely as well as to different format sizes. The change-over mechanism has a control shaft axially displaceable to at least first and second control positions, first and second control pinions mounted on the control shaft, and a plurality of drive wheels couplable with the first control pinion in the first control position of the control shaft, for converting the printing press from single-side sheet printing to double-side perfector printing. A device for guiding and holding a sheet is disposed on the storage drum. A gripper release device for adjusting the format size for perfector printing, and a control member coupled with the gripper-release device are also provided. The first control pinion, in the second control position of the control shaft, meshes with one of the drive wheels for adjusting the device for guiding and holding a sheet, and the second control pinion, in the second control position of the control shaft, meshes with the control member for adjusting the format size.
Abstract:
A plate cylinder of a printing machine has two separate fastening devices for thin flexible printing plates for various page sizes. One of the fastening devices is constructed for adjusting of both the circumferential and the lateral register of plates for various page arrangements in such a manner that the registering fastening device has a shaft comprises several individual parts which can be coupled and uncoupled for various page combinations whereby the shaft portions can be separately adjusted for circumferential and lateral register.
