    摘要: A dual discharge hopper device for the cargo body of a bulk cargo carrying wheeled vehicle has at least one transverse side wall which is pivoted and releasably latched for free discharge of material from the cargo body, and also has a bottom closure which provides for controlled discharge of material. A diverter panel is mounted on a shaft at the bottom of the device alongside the pivoted side wall, and is movable between a controlled discharge position in which it confronts the pivoted sidewall, and a free discharge position in which it lies diagonally across the device to block the controlled discharge closure. Two opposite sidewalls may be pivoted, in which case there are two diverter panels the upper ends of which effectively meet to block the controlled discharge closure.

    摘要: A railway hopper car having bottom dump discharge openings include a bell crank arm which is pivoted by a camming arrangement positioned adjacent to track to an opened position whereby a load is discharged. An auxiliary latch is provided which in the normal operating condition of the train locks the arm against rotation to prevent opening of the doors. The camming device includes an arrangement which is first engaged by an auxiliary latching element which is moved to a release position whereby a cam follower engages the camming face of a cam to thereby pivot the bell crank to its open position.

    摘要: An improved discharge control door over that described in U.S. Pat. No. 3,654,872 is described controlling flow of material from railway hopper cars or other containers holding material. The improved discharge control door includes curved discharge plates allowing better and greater material flow therethrough when in the open position, counterweight means keeping the door in its normally closed position covering the discharge opening and a spring biased friction element bearing against the side walls of the discharge control door which, in the absence of a force other than the material flowing over the discharge plates, keeps the door in a set open position.

    摘要: A door operating mechanism for a bottom dump hopper car including a plurality of transversely mounted bottom discharge gates arranged in oppositely opening pairs and operatively connected by compression struts to pendulously mounted vertical levers. The levers are movable divergently outward by linkages connecting them to a lever mounted on a longitudinally extending rotatable actuating shaft. The invention further provides that in the locked position the vertical levers and compression struts be in an overcenter position relative to each pair of associated discharge gates, thereby assuring positive locking of the mechanism.
