    摘要: A crossing gate mechanism includes a swingable gate arm, a rotatable gate arm shaft fixed to the gate arm, and an electronic sensor assembly coupled to the gate arm shaft. Rotation of the gate arm shaft corresponds with swinging of the gate arm. The electronic sensor assembly senses an angular position of the gate arm shaft and transmits a position signal corresponding thereto. The electronic sensor assembly includes a driving element that is attached to the gate arm shaft to rotate therewith. the electronic sensor assembly also includes a driven element that is driven by the driving element such that rotation of the gate arm shaft causes the driven element to rotate. The electronic sensor assembly is configured to generate the position signal based on a position of the gate arm shaft.

    摘要: A guardrail assembly (100) for a railway track has a bracket clip (102) which is connected to a side of an upright post (48) furthest from the railway track and is adapted to support a guard rail (1 12). The bracket clip (102) has flexible jaws (104, 106) for snap-on engagement and snap-off disengagement of the rail (1 12). The assembly (100) also has spacing means (15) in the form of telescopically engaging spacer portions (123, 124) connected together by a spring clip (120). The spring clip (120) has a protruding head (126) that is adapted to pass through overlapping apertures formed in the telescopically engaging spacer portions. There is also a bracket clamp (130) which is connected to an end of the spacing means (15) and is adapted to slidably engage the upright post (48).

    摘要: A rail line sensing and safety system adapted to reliably sense the presence, and optionally the direction and speed, of vehicles traveling on a rail line, and when a vehicle is sensed, to indicate whether a safety device, such as crossing gates, lights, bells, etc., should be activated. The system comprises at least one detection module typically mounted on a rail, at least one remote module typically located near a detection module, and at least one control module typically located near a safety device. In operation, a detection module senses a vehicle traveling on a rail line and sends signals to a remote module. The remote module then processes signals received from the detection module and transmits signals to the control module. The control module then directs, either directly or indirectly as a backup or supplement to an existing sensing and safety system, whether a safety device should be activated.

    摘要: A railroad crossing gate electrical control system for moving a crossing gate in up and down directions also provides for raising the gate counterweights in a failure mode. The control system includes an electric motor having a plurality of electromagnet poles and an armature rotating inside of the poles, with armature movement controlling gate movement. There is a motor and snub relay having contacts connected to the armature and the motor poles. A terminal board has movable contacts which are connected to the motor and snub relay and to a relay coil for moving the contacts of the snub relay. A source of power is connected to the terminal board. The movable terminal board contacts control the application of power to the motor and snub relay coil and the motor and snub relay contacts for operating the motor to cause up and down gate movement. There is a maintenance relay having a coil connected through a normally open switch to the source of power. The maintenance relay has contacts thereof connectable to the source of power and the motor, whereby closure of the normally open switch powers the maintenance relay coil to cause the contacts thereof to directly connect the source of power to the motor to cause the gate counterweights to be raised by armature movement.
