The front axis and the rear axis define a wheelbase of between 52 and 72 inches. A power unit drives at least one of the wheels. The ATV includes a straddle-type seat with a main seat portion for a driver and a secondary seat portion, rearward of the main portion, for a passenger. The ATV also has right and left footrests that each include a front footrest for the driver and a rear footrest for the passenger. A steering member steers at least one of the wheels.

    摘要: A lightweight vehicle frame capable of bearing significant loads is provided. The vehicle frame includes first and second rail members extending parallel to one another and at least one cross-member extending between the first and second rail members. At least one of these members includes adjacent apertures in a side wall. One of the apertures is larger in size proximate one edge of the side wall than an opposite edge of the side wall. The other aperture is complementary in shape and is larger in size proximate the opposite edge of the side wall than the one edge of the side wall. The resulting structure reduces the weight of the vehicle frame, yet maintains significant load-bearing capabilities.

An undercarriage includes a right and left track assembly connected by a pair of crossmembers. Each recessed channel is engagingly associated with a respective crossmember of the undercarriage, thereby allowing for the modular assembly of a loader machine when the recessed channels of the lower frame assembly are mounted over the crossmembers of the undercarriage. An upper frame assembly may be mounted on the lower frame assembly before or after the lower frame assembly is mounted onto the undercarriage.

    摘要: A frame structure designed to accommodate magnetic electric motors for the purpose of altering the distance of the main frame, from a ground level position to a vertically raised position, vertically above the wheel axles at main frame bottom level. Four motors are mounted to the upright motor mounts located in the passenger compartment of the vehicle. These motors are positioned in close proximity to each road wheel to enable individual raising or lowering of each 1 of 4 of the vehicles leading corner edges, located at the front and rear of the vehicle. The front of the frames contact plate is designed for mounting of a servo motor to facilitate steering of the vehicle in right or left turns. The rear contact plate is designed to accommodate a motor for the drive train to facilitate forward and reverse drive capability. Energy is supplied by a battery powered control enclosure connected to various motors mounted to frame structure with electrical wire, or wireless remote control. Frame can be constructed from a number of materials, such as aluminum, mild steel, titanium, carbon fiber, stainless steel or plastic. Frame sets can be welded together using measured precut pieces, or frame parts can be produced by a C.N.C. punch press machine, and formed to specifications by use of a break press. Plastic frames may be produced through the use of injection molds. These are some of the most common forms of frame manufacturing that can be used.

    摘要: An all terrain vehicle frame includes an upper member, a lower member, a forward cross member and a rearward cross member defining a central opening. An engine is disposed in the central opening and is attached to the frame. A swing arm for supporting a shaft member of outboard wheel assemblies is pivotally attached to the frame and the engine. The swing arm has a tapered shape that increases in width from a second end including a shaft support member to a first end including two bifurcated end portions and a frame accommodating portion. Each of the two bifurcated end portions includes a journal that is rotatably supported by a transverse member that passes through the journals, the frame and the engine. The journals are provided on opposite sides of the central opening. A dampener is connected between the engine and the swing arm to reduce vibrations transmitted from the engine to the frame.
