Abstract: A system for delivering and activating a two-part explosive may include an unmanned vehicle and/or an elevated structure, and a two-part explosive device. The device may include a container that is attached to, and releasable from, the unmanned vehicle or elevated structure. The container may contain an unsensitized explosive enclosed in a casing and and a sensitizing agent adjacent to the casing. The device may include an opening mechanism positioned at least partially within the container and adjacent to the casing. The opening mechanism may open the casing and expose the unsensitized explosive to the sensitizing agent, forming the two-part explosive in response to the container being released from the unmanned vehicle or elevated structure. The device may include a detonator inside or attached to the container. The detonator may trigger ignition of the two-part explosive after the unsensitized explosive is exposed to the sensitizing agent.

Abstract: A shock absorbing system for use when landing an unmanned aerial vehicle uses a rocker arm pivotally attached to each landing leg of the vehicle. A strut bracket is attached to each landing leg below the rocker arm. A damper leg is pivotally attached to the rocker arm on one side of the landing leg attachment and the upper end of a damper-loaded strut is pivotally attached to the rocker arm on an opposing side of the landing leg attachment. The base of the strut is fixedly attached to the strut bracket. As the vehicle, it places a downward force on each landing leg which cause the bracket to slide downward along the damper leg, causing the damper leg to pivot its end of the rocker arm upwardly and thus the strut end downwardly causing the strut to compress against the bias of the damper and thereby dampen the landing. Damper leg pairs can be joined by a skid.

Abstract: A parallel manipulator with six degrees of freedom may include a base that attaches to a unmanned aerial vehicle and a movable gripper element that may be positioned below the UAV. The positioning of the gripper element my reduce impact of the center of gravity of the attached UAV. The gripper element may include a geometric shape that complements objects routinely used in high-throughput screening (HTS) laboratories, such as microplates. The parallel manipulator and gripper element may be used to quickly, safely, and securely move objects in HTS laboratories and/or the like.

Abstract: Method for inspecting and/or manipulating a beam at a lower side of a roof or deck, the beam including a strip, the method comprising the steps of:
providing an unmanned aerial vehicle, UAV, wherein the UAV comprises a body, a number of rotors, a first arm; and an inspection and/or manipulation tool;
while the first arm is in the first position, flying the UAV towards the beam;
when the UAV contacts the beam, moving the first arm from the first position to the second position such that the end of the first arm is moved to a position vertically above the strip;
reduce the propulsion force until the UAV hangs from the beam with the end of the arm in contact with and supported by the strip; and
inspecting and/or manipulating the beam, using the inspection and/or manipulation tool, while the UAV hangs from the beam.-

Abstract: A landing gear system that can be used with unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) retrieves and releases canisters suitable for delivering items. To do so, the landing gear comprises a first leg and a second leg. The first landing leg and the second landing leg are rotationally engages at a first leg connection end and a second leg connection end. A tensioning member applies a rotational force about the engagement location, biasing the first leg toward the second leg. Each of the first and second legs can include a curved portion. A UAV comprising the landing gear can be lowered over a canister, and the canister is secured in place within the curved portions of the legs. To release, the landing legs are rotated against the bias, which can be facilitated by landing the UAV and placing the rotors into a reverse thrust.

Abstract: A pneumatic delivery system is used to facilitate delivery of canisters comprising delivery payloads by unmanned systems, such as unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The pneumatic delivery system comprises a tube having a channel within a tube wall, where a canister is configured to move through the tube. The tube comprises a tube opening and a transfer mechanism proximate the tube opening. The transfer mechanism engages a canister having a payload that is moved within the tube. The transfer mechanism moves the canister through the tube opening by extending from a first transfer position to a second transfer position. At the second transfer position, the transfer mechanism orients the tube and releases it to a UAV for delivery.

Abstract: An aircraft includes: an aircraft body including rotating wings and motors that rotates the rotating wings; wheels arranged on both sides of the aircraft body and rotatably supported around an axis that extends in a left and right direction of the aircraft body; rollers that protrude forward and upward with respect to each of the wheels when the aircraft body is in a horizontal state, and are rotatably supported around an axis that extends in a tangential direction of each of the wheels; and a controller that controls a rotation speed of the motors such that, when the aircraft body is moved in the left and right direction along a vertical wall surface, the aircraft body is inclined forward to bring the rollers into contact with the vertical wall surface, and the aircraft body is inclined to a side where the aircraft body moves in the left and right direction.
