    摘要: A biomass stack covering system for applying a tarpaulin sheet on a stack of biomass bales includes a motorized vehicle having at least one steerable and driven axle and an articulated arm affixed to and movable with respect to the motorized vehicle. The articulated arm is operably configured to extend horizontally and vertically and to pivot at a proximal end thereof with respect to the motorized vehicle. A tarpaulin dispensing apparatus is operably connected to a distal end of the articulated arm and is articulable thereabout. The dispensing apparatus is configured to rotationally retain a tarpaulin roll thereon and dispense a tarpaulin sheet from the tarpaulin roll onto the Bale stack by unrolling the tarpaulin sheet from the tarpaulin roll.

    摘要: Knitted netting is applied to products in a machine. A chute receives products serially through a receiving end, as from a conveyor, and discharges them serially into netting preferably rucked on the chute. As each product arrives at the product receiver, voiders operate to form a rope section of the netting behind the product, at the chute's discharge end. The clipper also clips the netting, to complete the netting of the product, and clips to create the starting end of the next netted product. A netting handle former operates to loop the rope section behind the product, before clipping, to form a looped handle for a product in the rope section of the netting. The netting that is clipped behind the products is the netting formed into the loops, and thus, the clips that are put on by the clipper secure the loops in their size and condition. The product receiver is preferably a discharge tray, and product guides on the tray straighten the product, to align it for netting, and also co-operate with the voiders to help tighten the product packaging. The clipper is also preferably uniquely structured in its clip rails to contribute to tighter packaging. The clip rails are paired on one side of the machine, with one angled and extending through a near clipper die support to reach the die of a distant die support. The chute is gravity driven and includes product ribs or rails for centering and ease of movement of products. The handle former is an essentially two-part, mechanically actuated disc and clam shell construction that reaches for the netting, captures it, and rotates a loop into it, while tightening the packaging, in co-ordination with the voiders.

    摘要: In U-shaped closing staples for bags and flexible tubes, which staples are made of strip material and consist of a crosspiece (7) and two legs (4) and in which the leg ends of the staple have been bent off outwardly to constitute a connecting web (2), by which the staple is severably included in a train (1), the severing of each staple from the train (1) will result at the severing location in the formation of burrs, which protrude beyond the strip width of the staple and may result in damage to the closed wrapper and to other wrappers. An apparatus for closing bags and flexible tubes by means of such closing staples comprises a closing punch (9), which acts on a die (8) and is formed in its active surface (29) with a groove (10), which has the same width as the closing staple and has a depth which is smaller than the total thickness in which the legs are subjected to the closing operation. During the closing operation the side wall faces of the groove (10) guide the leg ends (6) and ensure that the staple leg ends (6) firmly engaging the staple legs (4) on the outside will be embossed without a formation of a burr.

    摘要: An improved packaging device designed for the filling of flexible, tubular casing and for the sealing of the casing in discreet lengths which may then be further processed or packaged. The device includes a mounting assembly having a floor mounted frame with a rotatable platform supported by the frame. Adjacent the frame and platform is a device for feeding product through a product horn into casing which is shirred on the horn. The platform includes a plurality of specially designed clippers arranged in a circular array. As filled casing is discharged from the feeding mechanism it is directed tangentially into the circular array of rotating clippers which are equally spaced from each other. The clippers sequentially operate to gather the casing, apply spaced, double clips to the casing, sever the connection between adjacent clips, and to then discharge the packaged link from the device.

    摘要: In the preferred embodiment of the invention, a brake mechanism for a clip attachment packaging device is movable both axially with respect to a product discharge horn in order to control release of casing from the horn and pivotally with respect to the horn in order to move out of alignment with the horn thereby permitting access to the horn for repair, replacement of casing, or other purposes. As a further feature of the invention, the clip attachment apparatus includes a specially constructed gathering mechanism comprised of a fixed jaw defining a first clip channel side or section cooperative with a movable jaw defining a second clip channel side or section. The fixed jaw and first clip channel are maintained in a fixed orientation in space. The movable jaw and second clip channel are translatable in two directions simultaneously toward the fixed jaw to thereby close about casing between the jaws prior to attachment of a metal clip about the casing.
