摘要： A pull-top lid for a pressurized tennis ball container having a rubber safety shield for protecting against injury from the sharp pressing seam edge of the removed lid. The rubber gasket-like safety shield being bonded to the upper surface of the top enclosure panel and reaching beyond the pressing seam of the lid such that protection against injury is provided by the shield being extended beyond the sharp edge of the sheet metal. An alternative embodiment having an outer perimeter comprised of an arch shaped extension arm extending across the pressing seam and resting upon the circular lip of the raised rim. The lid upon being pulled off the the top panel synchonously causes the extension arm to wrap about and encapsulate the sharp edge of the pressing seam thereby preventing injury of any body parts.

The raised platform area on the lid is connected to the pull-tab area with outwardly sloping walls designed to engage the lips. The platform area is slightly higher than the depth of a circular peripheral groove ranging up to slightly higher than the rim. The lid may also include seal portions extending upwardly from the platform on both sides of the depressed pull-tab area. The invention may be employed on lids either with or without a peripheral groove. Another feature of the invention is a pull-tab with an arch handle and special puncture tip for easier more comfortable use by consumers.

摘要： A rotatable circular beverage can rim cover having an up-standing loop-shaped outer periphery configured to receive and snap over a raised circular edge of a beverage can. The protective cover serves two main purposes. It is intended to provide a sanitary covering means and to prevent contaminating objects from entering the can after opening. The cover has a circular depressed planar area that has a detachable pull-ring segment assembly covering the punch key portion of a beverage can. Upon the removal of the section by pulling and removing the pull-ring assembly, the protective cover creates an opening through which the contents of the beverage container can be consumed. The remaining section of the protective cover can be rotated between an opened or closed position to all consumption of the soft drink when in an opened position, and to cover the container's opening to prevent insects and other contaminants from penetrating the beverage can when in the closed position. The protective cover also provides an inclining hill-shaped projection to assist in lifting the underside of the punch key to an altitude that allows operator to safely lift the punch key in opening process.
