    摘要： A shipping pallet comprises a rectangular planar base member having two opposing ends and two opposing sides. Pivotally connected to one of the ends of the base member is a handle member that is adapted to be pivoted from a stored position, wherein the handle member is folded on top of the base member, to an operative position, wherein the handle member extends upwardly from the base member. The under surface of the base member includes a pair of elongated spaced apart pockets that extend the length of the base member on either side of the center line thereof. An elongated rail is associated with each of the pockets. Hydraulic rams or other power devices move the rails between a first position wherein they are within the pockets so that the planar base member of the pallet rests directly on a support surface and a second position Where the rails extend downwardly to support the pallet thereon. The pallets and handle members are so configured and dimensioned so that the handle fits between the elongated rails of the pallet positioned directly above or within a recess of that pallet so as not to interfere with the ability to stack a plurality of pallets on top of each other.

The pallet has a deck having a top and a bottom, a number of feet are formed extending downwardly from the deck, reinforcing members inserted in the deck top, and a lid having a top and bottom joined to the deck top and enclosing the reinforcing members. Ribs define an open grid pattern in the deck and lid, and hollow channels are formed in the deck and lid, which increases the strength of the pallet, without disproportionately increasing the volume or weight of material used. The hollow channels are formed at strategic locations in the lid top and the deck bottom. Foot straps mounted to the deck feet further improve the pallet structural integrity. Each foot strap is mounted to the feet with releasable shearable fasteners to simplify foot strap replacement and minimize foot strap damage.

    摘要： A plastic pallet (10) having good load bearing construction and held together without mechanical fasteners, includes deck boards (30). The deck boards include ridges (24) on an upper side (32) and a lower side (34) thereof. Deck boards are positioned transversely on stringers (12) and joined thereto by either an adhesive or thermoplastic welding processes. The stringers and deck boards may be provided with end caps (26, 42) which seal interior areas of the stringers and deck boards and prevent tearing thereof. The stringers and deck boards have interior reinforcement ribs (22,40). The cross sectional profiles of the stringers, deck boards, and end caps provide a cost effective and light weight pallet. Openings which extend between the stringers allow for either two way fork entry and/or four way fork entry. The stringers and deck boards provide flexibility in constructing pallets of various designs. The plastic pallet preferably is highly durable and fully recyclable.

    摘要： A stackable pallet system comprises a plurality of pallets used for holding and transporting various items, including potted plants such as potted trees, flowers, bushes, etc. When the pallets are to be stacked, two pairs of spacer pipes can be used on a first pallet extending upwardly therefrom. Two elongated saddles are then coupled, one to each pair of spacer pipes, such that the saddles extend between and unite the upper ends of the pairs of spacer pipes. The saddles comprise an upwardly facing, shallow channel which is sized to be slightly larger than at least a portion of the fork pockets contained on the pallet. A second pallet can be lowered down onto a first pallet with the fork pockets, or at least a portion of the fork pockets, being received in the saddle channels. Various containment rings can be coupled to the pipes, in place of or in addition to the saddles, to allow longer trees to be carried on the pallets or to allow double stacking of potted plants on a single pallet.
