摘要： A reusable bottle cap includes a panel having a top surface and a bottom surface. A sidewall extends downwardly from a periphery of the panel away from the bottom surface. The sidewall is configured to engage with an outer surface of a bottle neck proximate a rim of the bottle when the reusable bottle cap is coupled to the bottle neck. A peg extends downwardly from the bottom surface of the panel and is spaced from the sidewall. The peg is configured to be spaced from an inner surface of the bottle neck when the reusable bottle cap is coupled to the bottle neck.

Tearing along the tear lines results in tampering the seal, and does not tear the inner cover surface. An entirety of the inner cover surface is able to be continuous when the skirt extends along an entirety of the ring, as well as after removal of the cover from the can.

摘要： Disclosed is a metal bottle seal that is disposed on the curl of the metal bottle. The bottle seal may be held in place by crimping of the curl. In addition, adhesive may be used to hold the bottle seal on the curl. Adhesives can be used that fill discontinuities that may exist in the curl as a result of substantial drawing and ironing of the metal. Further, the metal bottle seal can be made of a material or laminated with a material that is soft enough to fill the discontinuities. The seal can be preformed as a continuous annulus for easy application to the top of the metal bottle. The metal bottle seal can also be used in conjunction with a cap seal to ensure an adequate and reliable seal.

The closure is particularly useful for bottled beverages brought aboard sailboats that use manually winches. The closures can be removed from the bottles using winch handles that are already aboard the sailboat, allowing the beverages to be consumed. Methods for making and using the novel closures for bottles are also described.
