摘要: A W-stacked pads of tape strips dispensable at a low peel angle, comprising a plurality of superimposed tape strips longitudinally reversed so as to align the first end of each tape strip with the second end of an immediately overlaying and an immediately underlying tape strip. The individual tape strips having first and second longitudinal end portions with differential release characteristics, with the second end portion of each tape strip adhered to the first end portion of an adjacent tape strip at an adhesion level having an adhesive strength sufficient to allow release of the second end portion of an intermediate tape strip relative to the first end portion of an immediately underlying tape strip when an immediately overlying tape strip is dispensed from the pad at a low peel angle, while preventing any appreciable longitudinal movement of the second end portion of an intermediate tape strip relative to the first end portion of an immediately underlying tape strip when an immediately overlying tape strip is dispensed from the pad at a high peel angle.

摘要: An imaging system includes a roller assembly adapted to guide sheet material in the system into an accumulator and a sheet registration assembly. The registration assembly includes a lateral fence extending along a first edge of the accumulator. The lateral fence is adapted to contact a lateral edge of sheets fed into the accumulator. A longitudinal fence extends along a second edge of the accumulator. The longitudinal fence is adapted to contact a longitudinal edge of sheets fed into the accumulator. A fixed cam is included in the roller assembly. A rotatable registration finger is mounted in contact with the cam. During rotation of the registration finger, interaction between the registration finger and the cam causes the registration finger to contact each sheet fed into the accumulator by the roller, and to exert force to urge each sheet toward the lateral fence and the longitudinal fence of the accumulator. In an embodiment, the roller assembly includes a selectively rotating shaft. The cam is fixed with respect to the shaft, and the registration finger is mounted on the shaft. The registration finger can include a collar secured to the shaft, with a finger member adapted for contact with sheet material connected to the collar and a cam follower adapted for contact with the cam. The registration finger can be fabricated from a flexible plastic material, and the cam can be provided as a shaft bushing. A biasing mechanism can secured between the registration finger and the cam. The biasing mechanism can be provided as a compression spring biasing the registration finger into contact with the cam. A method of improving sheet registration in an imaging system including a roller assembly adapted to feed sheet material in the system into an accumulator is also provided.

摘要: A system and method for storing and dispensing a stack of materials to a feed station of the utilization device that is adapted to feed stacks of the materials is provided. The materials, typically sheets or envelopes, are provided in a predetermined orientation in a stack in a container having a dispensing end or other opening. To dispense, the container is positioned with respect to the feed station and a release on the container is operated using a predetermined motion. The release enables the contents of the container, in stack form, to be transferred to the feed station free of any operator intervention with the contents of the stack. The dispensing end/opening can be shoulders on a container that are moved out of interfering contact with the stack when the stack is placed over upright guides on the feed station.

摘要: A printer having an interference-free receiver sheet feed path and method of assembling the printer. The printer, which is a thermal dye printer, comprises a print head for forming an image on a movable receiver sheet belonging to a stack of receiver sheets having a front edge portion. The stack of receiver sheets reside in a receiver sheet supply tray. A roller feeds the top-most receiver sheet along a receiver sheet feed path, leading edge first, from the supply tray and to the print head for printing by means of thermal activation of a first one of a plurality of dye donor patches belonging to a dye donor ribbon. After the first dye donor patch prints, the receiver sheet returns, trailing edge first, to the supply tray before printing by the next dye donor patch. A canopy that is connected to the supply tray is biased by a biasing member to cover the front edge portion of the stack of sheets while the receiver sheet returns to the supply tray, so that the trailing edge of the receiver sheet being printed does not abut the front edge portion of the stack of receiver sheets and crumple to possibly “jam” the printer by obstructing the feed path. An actuator is coupled to the canopy for actuating the canopy to uncover the front edge portion of the stack of receiver sheets while the receiver sheet is fed from the supply tray.

摘要: An erroneous container insertion prevention structure has a stopper mechanism disposed upstream of a positioning ledge for positioning the leading end of a cassette on a support base, for preventing the cassette from being inserted, and a releasing mechanism disposed at a container insertion reference position, for engaging the cassette to retract the stopper mechanism out of the path of said cassette only when the cassette is inserted along the container insertion reference position. The erroneous container insertion prevention structure, which is relatively simple in arrangement, allows the cassette to be reliably loaded into a cassette loading unit in a desired attitude.
