    摘要: A (poly)alkylene glycol higher alkyl ether derivative composition characterized by comprising 30-90 mol. % of (B1) (poly)alkylene glycol higher alkyl ether derivative and 70-10 mol. % of (B2) (poly)alkylene glycol higher alkyl ether derivative, respectively having a methyl group for R1 and an alkyl group of not less than two carbon atoms for R1 in the general formula (1) representing the derivatives: (wherein R1 and R2 represent alkyl groups whose total number of carbon atoms is in the range of 7-29, the number of carbon atoms of R2 is larger than the number of carbon atoms of R1, A represents a lower alkylene group, n represents a real number in the range of 1-300 on average, x represents 0 or 1, y represents a real number in the range of 1-10 on average, and R3 represents an optionally substituted organic residue of 1-60 carbon atoms [excluding the carbon atoms of the substituent]) and a deterging agent, a lubricating agent, or a dermatological medicine for external use containing the (poly)alkylene glycol higher alkyl ether derivative composition. The composition possesses such characteristic features as containing no oil-soluble component of low molecular weight, emitting odor sparingly, exhibiting a low stimulating property, having no foaming property, abounding in penetrating force, allowing thorough separation of the foam from a deterged article, and enjoying such low viscosity as to allow great ease of handling.

    摘要: Methods for quantitative conversion of soapstock, lecithin gums, deodorizer distillate and other by-products of vegetable oil refining containing interrupted double bond systems, to products with conjugated double bonds, using a reduced amount of alkali. Less than one mole of alkali per mole of acyl group present is required, thereby greatly reducing the need for added caustic compared with methods using oils, fatty acids and esters as starting materials. The preferred starting materials are soapstocks derived from vegetable oils rich in linoleic acid.

    摘要: Conjugated linoleic acid is readily prepared by mixing crude alkaline glycerol solution derived as a byproduct of triglyceride transesterification and a linoleate rich triglyceride, ester, soap, phospholipid, fatty acid, or wax and heating the mixture sufficiently to conjugate the linoleate double bonds. The reaction produces a favorable isomer mixture enriched in 10,12-trans,cis octadecadienoic and 9,11-cis,trans-octadecadienoic acids.
