    Abstract: The invention relates to the production of coloring agents which are soluble in water and in aqueous vehicles. The soluble coloring agents are, in particular, organic and are especially used in the food industry. The inventive coloring agents are characterized in that they are present in a solid form mixed with an effervescent agent in a binder which is essentially composed of polyethylene glycol wherein they are previously diluted at a temperature which is higher than the fusion temperature of said binder. Preferably, the method for the production of said coloring agents involves a dry mixture of two constituents introduced in a powdery form prior to the heating of said mixture, resulting in the fusion of the binder.
