The methods involve contacting the soiled lens with a cleaning composition comprising carbon dioxide and carbonic acid as cleansing agents. The cleaning compositions do not require abrasive agents such as polymeric beads, nor ocularly irritating agents such as enzymes or surfactants in order to effectively clean proteinaceous and nonproteinaceous deposits from the surface of contact lenses.

    摘要： A detergent composition containing an inexpensive detergent builder in the form of a selected crystalline calcium carbonate is provided. Specifically, the crystalline calcium carbonate has a substantially rhombohedral crystal structure with {1,0-1,1} crystallographic indices. The crystalline calcium carbonate can be calcite that has been specially modified to a rhombohedral crystal structure with {1,0-1,1} indices. The crystalline calcium carbonate of the present invention is extremely inexpensive because it can be readily formed from inexpensive naturally occurring calcite, and it performs well even when used at large median particle sizes.

In another broad respect, this invention is a composition useful as a paint remover, comprising: dialkyl carbonate, hydrogen peroxide, and water, optionally containing an alcohol, optionally containing a glycol ether. In another broad respect, this invention is a process for removing paint, comprising: applying a composition containing dialkyl carbonate, hydrogen peroxide, and water to a painted surface for a time and under conditions effective to cause blistering or bubbling of the paint. Advantageously, the composition of this invention may include a dibasic ester (DBE).

    摘要： A pourable, storage-stable manual dishwashing detergent is provided. The detergent contains at least 45 percent sodium bicarbonate with a mean particle diameter of at least 150 micrometers. The sodium bicarbonate is combined with an anionic surfactant, an alkyl polyglycoside surfactant, a zwitterionic surfactant an electrolyte and optionally a solvent, to form the detergent. The detergent of the invention has good pouring properties and excellent cleaning performance against dried-on and burnt-on soil.
