摘要： A composition including an acetal of an aldehydic tanning agent for tanning hides and/or pelts, as well as a method for tanning hides and/or pelts in order to produce leather, wherein an acetal of an aldehydic tanning agent is used. By reducing the pH, the aldehydic tanning agent can be released, whereby a tanning step is initiated. The composition and the method are characterized by lower toxicity compared to conventional compositions and tanning methods based on aldehydic tanning agents. Furthermore, improved penetration of the tanning agents into deeper layers of the hide and/or the pelt is possible, so that particularly homogeneous tanning is achieved.

摘要： A method for forming chrome-free retanned leather including: (a) contacting wet white (chrome-free tanned hide) with a retanning mixture comprising from 2% to 15%, by solids weight, based on the wet weight of the wet white, of an amphoteric polymer composition comprising amine functional units and acid functional units; and (b) applying a polymeric overcoat containing an acrylic copolymer with one or more metal transition elements, with a thickness of no greater than 100 microns, to the retanned wet white, is provided. The present invention also provides a chrome-free retanned leather formed by the method.

摘要： A method for tanning an animal skin may include: (a) putting the animal skin in contact with a first tanning bath including at least one dialdehyde of general formula O═CH—(CH)n—HC═O, wherein n is 0 or an integer number greater than or equal to 1 and less than or equal to 8, and wherein the first tanning bath has a pH greater than or equal to 1 and less than or equal to 5; (b) bringing the pH of the first tanning bath to a pH greater than 5 and less than 8; and/or (c) repeating one or more times the steps (a) and (b) on the animal skin coming from the step (b) using a second or further tanning bath. The first, second, and further tanning baths may be substantially free of surfactants.

摘要： A process for leather production from a raw animal hide includes the steps of pre-soaking, soaking, unhairing and liming, re-liming, deliming and bating, pickling and tanning, degreasing, re-tanning, neutralizing, dyeing and fatliquoring, and washing the processed hide. Waste liquid is collected from at least one of the foregoing steps is recycled to at least one of the foregoing steps. The collected waste liquid can be recycled to the same step, to a different step, or to two of more steps in the process.

摘要： A leather obtained by a (1) pre-treatment before tanning, (2) tanning process where glutaraldehyde is used as a tanning agent, (3) process where a re-tanning agent is used which is constituted by synthetic tannin, resin and aluminum, of which the synthetic tannin is constituted by (a) condensation product of aromatic sulfonic acid with formaldehyde or mixture of aromatic sulfonic acid and condensation product of aromatic sulfonic acid with formaldehyde, (b) methylene cyclic polymer of aromatic sulfonic acid with hydroxy aromatic compound or mixture of aromatic sulfonic acid and methylene cyclic polymer of aromatic sulfonic acid with hydroxy aromatic compound and (c) glyoxal, while the resin is constituted by (a) acrylic acid, methacrylic acid, acrylic acid ester or methacrylic acid ester polymer(s) and mixture thereof, and copolymer(s) thereof or mixture thereof and (b) polycondensation product of melamine with formaldehyde, wherein the re-tanning agent having the aforementioned composition is used to perform re-tanning, followed by dyeing as well as fatliquoring treatment using a fatliquoring agent constituted by (a) synthetic oil and natural oil and (b) mixture of synthetic oil and natural constituent, and (4) post-treatment after re-tanning; wherein said leather is characterized in that it is flexible and has unique elasticity and softness beyond what is presented by the material hide and has restorability that prevents the leather from stretching more than it should, and also in that its conditions include a BLC stiffness/softness of 4.42 mm or more but 4.90 mm or less and maximum set ratio of 10.7 or more but 13.9 or less.

摘要： The present invention is related to the use of a new conditioning agent for treating pelts for tanning. This conditioning agent consists in a composition of modified aldehydes, carboxylic acids or polycarboxylic acids and additives. The conditioning agent is used for replacing the steps of deliming and pickling in the pelts treatment. The action of the product can eliminate the step of basification when the tanning is made with chromium salts. The objective of the present invention is the use of a novel composition that can replace the steps of deliming, step 6, and pickling, step 8, described before for one just step called conditioning The proposed system, neutralizes the alkalinity and hence removes the solubility of Calcium from the liming operation attached in the pelt. The system described is obtained from functional aldehydes with the general formulation as following: The system comprises functional aldehydes to which are added a combination or just one of the following chemicals: mono, di, tri and polycarboxilic acids; anhydrides: fumaric, maleic and ftalic anhydrides of dicarboxilic acids that contains at least 2 to 8 carbon atoms; esters of mono, di, tri and polycarboxilic acids; EDTA; boric acid and sodium and calcium tripolyphosphates As solvents to stabilize the system it is used one or a mixture of the following compounds: water, branched or non-branched aliphatic alcohol, glycols and polyols.
