摘要： A feeder movement compensation algorithm for use within a processor controlled sewing machine. The sewing machine configured with a reciprocating needle and thread, and including a stitch plate upon which fabric to be sewn is positioned beneath the needle and thread. The machine also includes a feeder mechanism driving a feed dog thru a movement. The feed dog movement pushes the fabric along the stitch plate and the reciprocating needle and thread form stitches in the fabric. During the stitch cycle, the feed dog movement completes at least one feeder stroke. The feeder stroke includes a portion of the feed dog extending above the stitch plate and moving along the direction of feed. The feeder stroke thus pushes the fabric along the stitch plate. The compensation algorithm calculates a theoretical feeder stroke length based upon a desired stitch. The compensation algorithm then calculates a modified feeder stroke length using the theoretical feeder stroke length and at least one feeder calibration data element. The modified feeder stroke length is then performed by the feed dog during the stitch cycle to form the stitch.

摘要： An arrangement in a sewing machine including a fabric feed dog (14; 44) for feeding a fabric to be sewn, and a vertically movable presser bar (12; 42) having a presser foot (13; 43; 63) and a presser spring (23; 53). The presser bar is actuatable by a power-driven actuator(19; 49) connected to the presser spring and slidable in parallel with the presser bar. The actuator is movable relative to the presser bar to adjust the presser foot pressure and operatively connected to the presser bar to raise and lower the presser foot during the sewing procedure in accordance with a predetermined program. In one embodiment, the presser foot (13, 43) is slidable to follow the fabric during the feeding step. In another embodiment, the presser foot (63) is provided with a top feed ruffler (69, 70) for forming tucks or pleats in the fabric being sewn.

The lift body has an arcuate surface against which a roller connected to the needle bar acts to pivot the lift body alternately about the two connections. This provides appropriate lifting and lowering of the presser foot bar and the lift foot bar during a stitching cycle.

摘要： An alternating presser foot with a vertically movable sole portion, fixed in the feeding direction of a feed dog, and a clamping pressure foot adapted to be placed on sewing material relative to the movable sole portion by means of a drive lever which cooperates with a needle bar for movement along with the sewing material in the feeding direction of the feed dog. For transmission of motion from the drive lever to said clamping pressure foot, an angle lever is provided, one arm of which, extends approximately vertically, defining a guide cam cooperating with a follower of the drive lever, while the other arm thereof extends approximately horizontally defining a pressure element for stressing said clamping pressure foot in order to place it in engagement with the sewing material. The clamping pressure foot entrained, in turn, is operatively connected to the lower end of a cam member which is suspended in a pendulating manner, said cam member having a cutout portion that narrows in the downwardly direction approximating a V-shape configuration. The lower, narrowed end portion of said cutout portion cooperates with a centering element of the drive lever for determining the neutral starting position of said clamping pressure foot, whereas the upper, widened cutout portion makes possible a pendulating motion of the cam member providing for the engagement of the clamping pressure foot with the sewing material being moved by the feed dog.

摘要： The upper feed dog for the cloth feed mechanism of a sewing machine can be moved sideways from a position opposing the sewing area to be separated from the sewing area to thus facilitate needle exchange and threading. The cloth feed mechanism of the sewing machine includes lower feed dogs which move towards and away from as well as longitudinally to a throat plate and a support member. The support member has an upper feed dog secured thereon which moves, interlocked with a driving member, in four directions above the upper surface of the throat plate with a phase in the vertical movement opposite that of the vertical movement of the lower feed dog and with a phase in the longitudinal movement identical to that of the longitudinal movement of the lower feed dog for feeding the cloth in synchronism with the lower feed dog. The support member is supported rotatably about a vertical shaft so as to oppose or separate the feed dog to or from the sewing area.
