The first feed mechanism and the second feed mechanism are arranged side by side in a first direction, which is parallel to a top surface of the bed and orthogonal to the feed direction. The mechanism arrangement portion is configured to arrange the first feed mechanism and the second feed mechanism in different positions in a second direction, which is orthogonal to the top surface of the bed. The drive portion is configured to drive the first feed mechanism and the second feed mechanism in synchronization.

摘要： An upper feed device for a sewing machine comprises an upper feed arm having its base end coupled with a longitudinally swinging crank and an upper feed dog attached at its front end. The mechanism for vertically moving the upper feed arm consists of a clutch mechanism comprising a lever rotatably mounted on a vertical feed shaft and swinging in cooperation with the main shaft, an abutment disposed on the lever and an abutment of a collar disposed on the vertical feed shaft, which is capable of disconnecting the cooperation of the lever and the vertical feed shaft, and a crank having a roller slidably fitting with a guide disposed parallel to the upper feed arm and which moves vertically through its attachment to the vertical feed shaft. A block is provided below the roller to engage with the free lower end surface of the crank and is adjustable in its mounting position to prevent the roller from descending more than specified. The upper surface of the block engages with the free lower end surface of the crank and is inclined.

摘要： The present invention includes a sewing machine (12) with a variable top feed mechanism (25) that feeds the top layer of material for a sleeve at a variable rate to change the fullness thereof. The machine (12) is driven by a motor (42) which is controlled by a controller (51). A program is taught to the controller (51) for storage therein. The controller (51) then controls both the motor (42) and a controller (45) for the top feed mechanism to regulate the number of stitches and the relative rates of speed for the top and bottom materials fed by the machine. The program initially is taught to the machine and can be utilized for any type of material or size by inputting the correct sizes and types of material on a control panel (44). The machine (12) therefore semi-automatically sews sleeves onto armholes with the correct fullness sewn therein.

According to the invention, at least one of the drives is adjustable so that the increment of the displacement of the respective member (fabric or coupling chain) can be varied to ensure that the two members are stitched together free from undulations or corrugations after the stitching operation or any subsequent treatment to which the product may be subjected.

摘要： An upper layer feed mechanism in a sewing machine is disclosed herein. The upper layer feed mechanism comprises a first interlocking arm secured at one end to a horizontal feed shaft, an upper layer feed shaft rotatably supported on the machine frame of a sewing machine and having a second interlocking arm, a connector rod connecting between the first and second interlocking arms, an adjusting mechanism adjusting the connection between the second interlocking arm and connector rod, a support arm rotatably supported at one end on the machine frame, an upper layer feed arm rotatably supported at one end on the support arm and having an upper layer feed dog at the other end, a connection mechanism transmitting the rocking movement of the upper feed shaft to the support arm, a resilient means normally urging the upper layer feed dog downwardly and a means urging the upper layer feed dog upwardly against the resiliency of the resilient means.

摘要： A stitch shortening and tacking assembly for use in a sewing machine is provided. The shortening and tacking assembly is particularly suited for use with a sewing machine wherein a fabric is advanced between a presser foot and a platen disposed in a first feeding position by a reciprocating feeder that is synchronized with respect to a rib and sewing needle. The sewing needle is synchronized with respect to the feeder and rib to stitch the fabric after the web has been advanced by the feeder. The platen is adapted to be displaced from the feed position to a stitch shortening position whereby the web is advanced through a shorter interval between sewing operations to thereby shorten the length of each stitch effected thereby. The platen is further adapted to be displaced from the stitch shortening position to a stitch tacking position whereby a portion of the platen is biased against the presser foot to thereby prevent the fabric from being advanced between sewing operations.

摘要： A method and apparatus for automatically and continually feeding workpieces, one after another, to a sewing machine. The continuous feeding is imparted to the workpiece by a plurality of connecting links which connect the trailing edge of one workpiece with the leading edge of the following workpiece at a point in front of the sewing instrumentalities. The workpiece that is being fed into and through the machine automatically draws the succeeding workpiece towards and through the machine due to the connecting link fastening these two together. Motion is imparted to the connecting links by the feed device associated with the sewing machine. The connecting links are guided through a predetermined path by a rail system which automatically returns the connecting link to a staging area after same has been released from the workpiece. A sewing machine fastens together the continguous ends of the workpieces and a cutter cuts the chain formed therebetween.

摘要： A two-needle sewing machine includes a machine casing having a sewing head mounting the needles, a work support plate, and a ripping knife supported in the sewing head and working between the needles to form an elongated slot of a braid opening in a cut garment piece. A supporting bar is guided in the machine casing for longitudinal displacement perpendicular to the work support plate, and is rotatable into different angular positions. A single angular cross-section cutting knife is mounted on the supporting bar and serves as a tool for making diverging corner cuts at the opposite ends of the elongated slot. Air-operated piston-cylinder actuators are provided to rotate the supporting bar between two positions spaced angularly by 180.degree., and to displace the supporting bar longitudinally to effect the diverging corner cuts. The sewing head mounts a sliding foot arrangement for moving the work in a direction opposite to the normal work feeding direction.
