The outer tube has an elongated geometry that defines a size and shape of the baffle structure. The inner tube can be inflated and inserted into the outer tube. The outer tube and an at least partially inflated inner tube inserted within are configured to at least counteract forces of a fluid being contained within a specified area.

    摘要: The present disclosure relates to a cofferdam system securable to an underwater structure and across a body of water. The system includes a post support and anchoring assembly securable to the structure, a web support frame which extends upwardly from the post support and anchoring assembly in a spaced apart configuration from a surface defined by the underwater structure, as well as a substantially flexible impermeable web which is positioned across the body of water and which is adapted to cover the post support and anchoring assembly and at least a lower section of the web support frame outwardly therefrom. Such configuration of the system allows to provide a substantially dry enclosure from a dam upstream side between the substantially flexible impermeable web and the underwater structure when mounted thereto and once water is being removed from a dam downstream side. A method for installing the same is further described.

The portable cofferdam system generally includes a first sidewall and a second sidewall each having an interior side, an exterior side, an upper edge, a lower edge and a rear edge. A middle wall is connected to the sidewalls opposite of the rear edges of the sidewalls forming a substantially U-shaped structure. An opening formed between the rear edges of the first sidewall and the second sidewall to allow for positioning about or near the inlet of an object or area to be kept dry such as the inlet of a culvert.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a floating structure comprising at least a closed space (10), a hull in the shape of a concrete cofferdam (12) having an external delimiting surface intended to be exposed to surrounding water, and a function for heating of the space comprising a heat pump connected to a closed circuit for circulating heat transport medium. At least one collector hose (14) for the circulating heat transport medium is provided in recesses in the concrete such that the cross section of the collector hose is located entirely within an outer outline of the cofferdam, whereby heat from surrounding water is absorbed by the collector hose and used for heating of the space. The invention also relates to a method of moulding a concrete cofferdam (12) adapted to be a hull of a floating structure.

    摘要: An off-shore ice island structure for location over a submerged drill site in waters which normally freeze in winter. The structure includes a buoyant protective caisson which freezes in position over the drill site upon onset of winter. A barge floats on water kept unfrozen within the caisson, and is connected to the caisson so it can be swivelled generally about a vertical axis to adjust the circumferential location of the drilling axis of drilling apparatus carried on the barge. The drilling apparatus is movable relative to the barge to enable further adjustment of the drilling axis location. The arrangement enables the drilling axis to be maintained in substantial vertical alignment with the drill site despite movement of the caisson caused by the surrounding shelf ice. The caisson is part of an ice island structure whose mass is built up by successive flooding and freezing steps to ground it on the sea bed. The capability for fixing the location of the drilling axis despite shelf ice movement permits drilling operations to commence long prior to grounding of the ice island.Various arrangements are disclosed for moving the barge from within the caisson for reuse at another drill site.
