    摘要: A foundation pier bracket system provides attachment of a pier shaft with a building or structure foundation such that the system provides securement to competent strata or soil below. The system can include a reinforcing sleeve and a bracket assembly. The bracket assembly can include a shaft receiving portion and a seat portion. The shaft receiving portion can define an aperture that is sized and shaped to receive a portion of the reinforcing sleeve therein. The seat portion can include a plurality of protruding members that protrude upwardly therefrom. The plurality of protruding members can be arranged such that they restrain lateral movement of a beam along the seat portion in at least one axis. The reinforcing sleeve can include a locking wedge that secures the reinforcing sleeve to the bracket assembly. A method of supporting a foundation of a building is also provided.

    摘要: Methods of lifting structures such as a wall of a building. A fluid that is under pressure is injected beneath the base of the wall. The pressure of the injected fluid acts against the base of the wall to lift the wall vertically. In some embodiments, a supplemental lifting force mechanism can be attached to the wall to apply a supplemental lifting force to the wall that acts together with the lifting force applied by the injected fluid. The supplemental lifting force “lightens” the wall, reducing the amount of lifting force required to be applied to the wall by the injected fluid.

    摘要: A piering system includes a heave plate attached to a foundation and supported by a pier. A downward facing socket is permanently attached to the heave plate. The socket receives the top end of a heavy stud of a coupling assembly, the bottom end of the stud is screwed into a captive nut of a shim-block. A nut is welded to the stud leaving about ½ inch of the stud protruding upwards for insertion into the socket. The nut may be turned to adjust the height of the stud. The shim-block and coupling assembly are supported by a head plate which is supported by the pier. The head plate includes a wide table for supporting a pair of jacks on opposite sides of a house jack facilitating installation of the system.

    摘要: A lifting assembly for raising and supporting a load includes a removable and reusable lifting bracket. The lifting bracket is designed to fit around and support a support bracket that supports a load. The support bracket is installed on the pole of the pier and engages the edge of the load. The lifting bracket is removably attached to a jacking apparatus for pushing or pulling the piering pole through the support bracket and raising the load on the support bracket. After the lifting operation, the lifting bracket is removed from the jacking apparatus and the support bracket attached to the piering pole for use on adjacent piers and on other lifting assemblies.

    摘要: A device for raising and supporting the foundation of a building comprises a pile, a first assembly adapted to fixed to the foundation, a second assembly adapted to grip the pile to be inserted in the ground, and hydraulic cylinders connected at opposed ends thereof to the first and second assemblies. The cylinders, when retracted, draw the second assembly downwardly for driving the pile in the ground. The first assembly includes a guide tube for guiding the pile while the pile is driven in the ground by the second assembly and the cylinders. The pile is made of a series of longitudinally aligned pile sections that are connected together. Once a lower end of the pile has reached sufficient underground resistance, further actuation of the second assembly causes the foundation to be raised. Once the foundation has been raised to a desired position, the pile is fixed to the guide tube of the first assembly thereby supporting the foundation in the desired position. The second assembly comprises a pair of opposed jaws that engage the pile when the second assembly is drawn downwardly by the cylinders. The second assembly comprises a side door for allowing pile sections to be added to the pile by front loading in the second assembly.

The bit includes a center post member extending within a bore in the lowermost pile section and/or a sidewall journaling the lower end of the lowermost pile section. The bit may be connected to an elongated rod extending through the series connected pile sections and used to drive the bit rotatably during installation of the pile sections and to minimize lateral excursion of the support system during and after installation of the column of pile sections.
