    摘要: A method for operating a continuous mining machine having a device continuously providing provisional roof support, wherein the mining machine a rolling roof-protection portion which is fixed on a main machine frame of the continuous mining machine via a front column structure and a rear column structure. While the machine is cutting, the roof-protection device performs continuous load holding on a roof, and after cutting, performs support operations, thereby achieving simultaneous performance of cutting and support operations, and improving tunneling efficiency. Different support strengths are configured according to the hardness, completeness, and quality indicators of rock on a mine roof, such that the device is able to effectively support the roof.

    摘要: A self-advancing roof support for a longwall mining system includes a base, a hydraulic actuator having one end pivotally coupled to the base, and a canopy portion that is connected to another end of the hydraulic actuator. The roof support also includes a load sensor disposed on the canopy portion. The load sensor generates a signal indicative of an amount of load borne by the canopy portion in abutment with a roof of an underground mine site. A controller is communicably coupled to the load sensor and the hydraulic actuator. The controller determines if the signal from the load sensor is suggestive of a cavity adjacent to a zone above the canopy portion. Based on the determination, the controller actuates movement of the hydraulic actuator such that the canopy portion is displaced into a position underlying the cavity.

    摘要: A roof support unit for a longwall mineral mining installation has a roof shield supported above a floor sill. A first hydraulic ram is provided for advancing the roof support unit. The roof shield is provided with a forward extension which is advanceable by means of a second hydraulic advance ram. A hydraulic control arrangement, which includes the two hydraulic advance rams is provided for controlling the advance of the roof shield extension in dependence upon the working stroke of the first hydraulic advance ram. The control arrangement is such that the amount of hydraulic fluid supplied to one of the pressure chambers of the second hydraulic advance ram is dependent upon the amount of hydraulic fluid expelled from one of the pressure chambers of the first hydraulic advance ram during the working stroke of the first hydraulic advance ram.

    摘要: A self-advancing mine roof support has a beam-like abutment adapted to be disposed generally adjacent and parallel to a work face. Three roof support elements are spaced apart along the abutment and are pivoted to the abutment. The abutment may be angled relative to the direction of advance by arranging the three support elements in staggered formation. A beam of the central support element is pivoted to the abutment. The two outer roof support elements are connected to the abutment by a linkage, e.g., guide arms, which allows the abutment to pivot about the beam of the central element without changing the distance between the three elements as measured at right angles to the direction of advance.

    摘要: The invention relates to an advance mechanism for a roof support unit to be used in a longwall face of a mineral mining working. The advance mechanism comprises a hydraulic advance ram and guide means constituted by a guide rod means and a guide rail. One end of the guide rod means is attached to a conveyor extending along the longwall face, the other end of the guide rod means being attached to a guide element. The guide rail extends slidably through a guide aperture in the guide element and is pivotally attached to the floor sill of the roof support unit for pivotal movement in a vertical plane perpendicular to the longwall face. The hydraulic advance ram is attached to the guide element and acts on a member fixed to the floor sill.
