    摘要: A method and an arrangement are disclosed for supporting a roof of an underground excavation. A hollow prop casing of two or more telescopable sections is erected and telescoped apart until it bears on the floor and the roof. The sections are then biased against the floor and the roof and the prop casing is filled with a hardenable substance which upon hardening forms in the casing a solid column capable of supporting the roof.

    摘要: A grout tillable prop assembly for supporting a ceiling such as the ceiling of an underground mine. The prop assembly comprising an inner member and an outer member adapted for movement between an extended use configuration and a retracted configuration, a unidirectional grout inlet in an upper part of a sidewall of the outer member to allow grout to pass into the prop, the inner member and the outer member having wall portions and being self-supporting, an air conduit through the prop having an opening adjacent an upper limit of the prop, a pressure relief valve coupled to the air conduit whereby the prop is be brought from the retracted configuration to the extended configuration by application of pressurized air through the air conduit and whereby the extended prop is filled with grout via the unidirectional grout inlet.

    摘要: A telescopic tube locking and unlocking system in which one square tube is slidable within another square tube of larger diameter. The outer tube is provided with a transverse slot and a pin mounted in a slide which slides laterally in a guideway plate fixed to the wall of the outer tube. The pin extends through the slot to engage the edges of a series of vertically arranged and vertically spaced cams fixed to at least one wall of the inner tube. By pulling the tubes apart then pushing them together the pin cooperates with the cams to lock the inner tube in an extended position or permit telescoping thereof in the outer tube.
