摘要: Disclosed is a method for producing a forged crankshaft. This production method includes: a pressing step of pressing a part in a longitudinal direction (first region) of a bar-like member with a pair of first dies, thereby decreasing a cross sectional area of the first region; and a decentering step of decentering a second region of the bar-like member with a second die with the first region being held. The second region is at least a part of the region of the bar-like member excepting the first region. The decentering direction by the second die is a direction perpendicular to each of the pressing direction by the first dies and the longitudinal direction of the bar-like member.

A crankshaft includes a journal and a pin, each of the journal and pin having such a surface geometry that the arithmetical mean height of the primary profile, Pa, is 0.090 μm or smaller and the reduced peak height Rpk is 0.070 μm or smaller. As used herein, arithmetical mean height of a primary profile Pa is defined in JIS B 0601 (2001), and reduced peak height Rpk is defined in JIS B 0671 (2002).

摘要: A method for manufacturing a crankshaft for an internal combustion engine with a plurality of journals having a hardened case with a first microstructure. The crankshaft is comprised of a steel comprising between about 0.3 wt % and 0.77 wt % Carbon. The first microstructure of the hardened case of the journals comprises between about 15% and 30% ferrite and a balance of martensite and the resultant subsurface residual stress between 310 MPa and 620 MPa.

摘要: An apparatus for manufacturing a forged crankshaft includes a pair of upper and lower dies and a first tool. The pair of dies deforms first excess portions and thereby thickens both side portions of a rough crank arm, in a region near a rough pin adjacent thereto. The first tool is fitted in an open space made in the pair of dies, and is capable of coming into contact with a rough-journal-facing surface of the rough crank arm, except the side portions in the region near the adjacent rough pin. The first pair of dies and the first tool have first guides to guide the first tool from a retracting position to a contacting position. The first guides include a first guide disposed on at least one of an upper surface and a lower surface of the first tool.

摘要: A crankshaft includes journals that define a central axis of rotation; crank pins that are eccentric with respect to the journals; crank arms connecting the journals to the crank pins; and counterweights integrated with the crank arms. Each of the crank arms has recesses in a surface adjacent to the crank pin. The recesses are disposed inward of peripheral regions in both sides along an edge of the surface, and are disposed along the peripheral regions. The crankshaft has a reduced weight, an increased torsional rigidity and an increased flexural rigidity.

摘要: A crankshaft for an internal combustion engine includes a shaft body having a body rotation axis, with at least one crank pin for coupling a connecting rod to the crankshaft. The crank pin is connected to the shaft body in an offset manner with respect to the body rotation axis by two crank arms. Each arm has an arm surface facing one to the other with the crank pin extending between the arm surfaces. At least one of the arm surfaces is provided with a protrusion extending from the arm surface and configured to avoid contact between the arm surface and the connecting rod.

摘要: In a forming apparatus, movable journal dies and stationary journal dies retain rough journal portions of a preform blank therebetween, and reference crank pin die and movable crank pin dies contact rough crank pin portions thereof, and in this state, the movable journal dies and the movable crank pin dies are moved axially toward the reference crank pin die and the reference crank pin die and the movable crank pin dies are moved in a direction perpendicular to an axial direction. With this, weighted rough arm portions are axially compressed to reduce their thickness to that of weighted arms of a forged crankshaft, and the rough crank pin portions are pressed in the direction perpendicular to the axial direction to increase an amount of eccentricity to that of the crank pins of the forged crankshaft.

摘要: A load due to combustion pressure is applied to each of the crank pins via a connecting rod in a direction from the axis of a piston pin to the axis of the crank pin. Each of the crank arms includes a recess in a surface adjacent to the journal, in a region inward of a peripheral region along the edge of the surface. The recess extends along the peripheral region, and is asymmetric with respect to a crank arm centerline connecting the axis of each of the crank pins to the axis of each of the journals. Each of the crank arms has a maximum flexural rigidity at a point of time when the load onto each of the crank pins due to the combustion pressure reaches a maximum. The crankshaft has a reduced weight and an increased torsional rigidity in combination with an increased flexural rigidity.
