    摘要: A constant-velocity joint with a tripod of the type comprising a tulip and a tripod whose center pivots with radial freedom of movement against the base of the tulip. The tripod is held under axial prestress against this base by an elastic clip having a central part in the form of a cup comprising a base which is in contact with a facing surface of the center of the tripod, and a side wall from the peripheral edge of which extend legs, the free ends of which are joined to the tulip. Each portion of the side wall which extends between two consecutive legs has a hole.

    摘要: A tripod universal joint includes a shaft with a forked end or tulip which is held in assembled relationship with a tripod spider by a spring clip having angularly spaced legs adapted to snap releasably into grooves in the tulip. The spider is located in a cup-shaped housing. To facilitate assembly of the tulip with the spider, a resiliently flexible washer is placed on the bottom of the housing and holds the spring clip upwardly in a position permitting the legs of the clip to interlock with the tulip when the tulip is moved axially toward the clip. After assembly of the tulip with the clip has been completed, the spacer washer is removed from the housing by pulling on a flexible retrieval wire which is attached to the washer.

    摘要: The method permits mass-producing axially retained tripod joints having high rigidity and a given prestressing force which is reproducible from one joint to another. According to this method, after having clipped a resiliently yieldable attachment onto a tulip-shaped element of the joint while the joint is in its assembled position, the value of the gap between the shoulder of a thrust member and a bearing surface of a hub carrying the trunnions is determined for the position of the joint in which the hub and tulip-shaped member are in alignment and the thrust member is axially shifted away from the hub and there is introduced in the gap produced between the thrust member and the hub a shim the thickness of which is chosen to be slightly larger than the gap.
