    摘要: An improved air outflow valve having a cable assembly that enhances its reliability. In a particular embodiment, the cable assembly couples the diaphragm to the control arm of the air outflow valve and includes a retainer and a cable. The retainer has a cavity to slidingly accept the end of the cable when the valve is operated in a manual mode. Thus, bending or kinking of the cable is substantially inhibited or prevented, resulting in improved valve reliability. The improved cable assembly also is available as a retrofit kit and a method of retrofitting an existing valve is also provided.

An adjusting device (12) is provided between the ends (6, 7) of the Bowden cable sleeve (4) and the corresponding support locations (8, 9). The adjusting device (12) has a holding element (14) which holds the end (6, 7) and is fixed to the support location. The holding element (14) can be loosened to axially displace the ends (6, 7).

    摘要: A throttling valve assembly actuated by a stepper motor having a double diaphragm seal and integral throttling surface. The throttling surface interfaces to a mating orifice and port arrangement to provide a smooth control regime for various process fluids. Because of the unique design of the flow paths the fluids will remain in a laminar flow state throughout the throttling range, thus providing smooth and continuous response to the control input. The valve opening to the fluid controlled by a stepper motor through a direct drive mechanism. The embodiment shown here employees all PTFE construction for the wetting parts, but any material could be used that would be compatible with the process fluid. Additional features are minimal capture of the process fluid, free draining, and no metallic parts in close communication with the process fluid.

    摘要: A safety device for shutting off a gas valve at the detection of a gas leak has an add-on adaptor device having a first knob mounted over an existing gas knob and affixed thereto; a spindle coupled to the first knob, capable of rotating the fist knob, and the gas valve knob, between an open position and a closed position. A second knob is rotatably mounted substantially perpendicular to the spindle, and is provided with firm cantilever which is extended to provide a firm support along side the gas valve knob so as to cause rotation of the gas valve knob when the second knob is rotated in one direction. A spinning is attached to the second knob and is in a wound state when the second knob is parallel to the first knob when the first knob is in the open position, and in an unwound state when the first knob is in the closed position. A bracket is capable of being springably forced into a groove on the second knob when the second knob is aligned substantially parallel to the open position to keep it from rotating. A solenoid retracts the bracket away from the groove so the spring can rotate the second knob into the closed position. A fixing means fixes the add-on adapter device and holds the adapter in place on the existing gas valve knob. A gas leak detector detects the leaks and produces a signal to energize the solenoid and activate the device.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for supplying air to a ported rotary kiln involves the use of butterfly valves and a mechanical valve actuation system for introducing air into the kiln at axially and circumferentially spaced locations along the kiln length. The valve actuation system selectively and sequentially opens and closes the butterfly valves such that port air is introduced into the interior of the rotary kiln. The valve actuation system of the present invention is incorporated with a butterfly valve having a valve housing with an air passageway and including an air inlet and an air outlet, a valve disc rotatable within the housing to open and close the passageway, and a valve stem defining an axis of rotation and connected to the valve member for rotation therewith. The valve actuation system includes an assembly mounted on the valve stem to rotate the valve member between its open and closed positions. The valve actuator assembly includes an actuator base connected to the valve stem for rotation therewith, a lever assembly mounted coaxially with the actuator base and valve stem to freely rotate relative to the actuator base and valve stem, and a lost motion mechanism interconnecting the actuator base and the lever assembly for transferring torque from the lever assembly to the actuator base as the lever assembly rotates.

    摘要: A shield for a gas management pintle valve, such as an exhaust gas recirculation valve for an internal combustion engine, for mitigating leakage of gas and moisture along the valve pintle into the actuator, to prevent corrosion and failure of the actuator. The shield is a tubular member having an equatorial radial flange and is slidably mounted on the pintle in an annular chamber between the valve body and the actuator. The inner diameter of the tube is selected to be as close-fitting to the pintle as possible while still being slidable thereupon to be adapted to either of two operating positions. During engine shutdowns, the shield is drawn by gravity toward the valve body to form a first seal with the flange against the pintle bearing or a bearing splash shield, preventing or minimizing the escape of moist, hot gases under low pressure from the valve along the pintle. During engine running, high-pressure exhaust gases within the valve may be forced along the pintle through the bearing bore and bearing splash shield toward the actuator. The gases force the shield to slide along the pintle, opening the first seal and forming a second seal with the flange against the actuator, allowing the leaked gases to escape radially from the pintle without invading the actuator.

    摘要: A valve system for fluid pipes is disclosed. This valve system is designed to be operable using pneumatic pressure or using another means, such as a valve control lever or fluid pressure, in place of pneumatic pressure and is designed to be controlled easily and precisely. The valve body (20) is thus movable within the passage (13) while minimizing frictional force between the valve body and the valve housing (10). The valve control lever (50) is operated in conjunction with the annular guide groove (24) formed on the circumferential external surface of the pressure actuated flange (25) of the valve body (20). In such a case, the linear moving direction and moving distance of the valve body is determined by the rotating direction and rotating angle of the lever (50). The valve system of this invention also has a rotor (40) used for centrifugally forcing the fluid introduced into the passage. A fluid guide rod (45) axially extends along the center of the passage, thus guiding the flow of fluid. A fluid guide member (33), having a variety of fluid guide surfaces, is assembled with a disc (30). The valve system thus allows fluid to more quickly and smoothly pass through the valve system. The valve body is also movably and concentrically supported by a plurality of spring-biased valve support units (26).
