Abstract:
A low powered system for providing sufficient current to a fuel control mechanism drive. The system may have a fuel control mechanism pick circuit that has an energy storage mechanism for providing a large amount of current for a short time to the fuel control mechanism drive. A safety switch may be enabled with a special signal to let current flow to the fuel control mechanism drive to operate a corresponding fuel control mechanism for controlling fuel to a pilot light or heating element. The pilot light or heating element may provide heat to a thermoelectric source that generates electrical power from the heat. The electrical power may go to a single DC-to-DC converter and voltage clamp for providing a voltage source to a microcontroller and other circuits of the system. The pick circuit may prevent a harmful reverse flow of current from the storage mechanism to the thermoelectric source.
Abstract:
A process for producing an analytical aid for the detection of at least one analyte in a sample, such as a body fluid. The analytical aid includes at least one housing and at least one test element including at least one test chemistry. The process includes the following steps: providing the test element; and producing at least one housing part of the housing using at least one shaping process, during which the test element is connected to the housing part.
Abstract:
Valve assemblies may be configured to perform a valve proving test as part of an operational cycle of a combustion appliance coupled to the valve assembly. The valve assembly may include a valve body having a fluid path, first and second valves situated in the fluid path, first and second valve actuators, and a pressure sensor in fluid communication with an intermediate volume of the fluid path between the first and second valves. A valve controller may monitor a measure related to a pressure in the intermediate volume. The valve controller may then output a signal if the measure related to the pressure in the intermediate volume meets and/or exceeds a threshold value, where the threshold value is determined based on a measure related to an initial pressure in the intermediate volume and a known test duration.
Abstract:
A secondary safety circuit for a gas-fired device and method of operating the circuit. The secondary safety circuit includes a low-voltage direct current power source, a valve, and at least one sensor. The valve can be positioned in a pilot burner gas line. The secondary safety circuit ensures the valve is closed upon detecting an unsafe condition with the sensor.
Abstract:
A method for monitoring functionality of a seal assembly within an injector feed assembly is described. The method includes providing a buffer fluid to the seal assembly, measuring at least one of a pressure and a flow rate of the buffer fluid, and determining a functionality of the seal assembly based at least partially on the at least one of a pressure and a flow rate of the buffer fluid.

Abstract:
A gas meter device is provided which is configured in a manner that even if a user takes an unauthorized action such as the removal of a gas meter device in order to use gas without authorization, since the generation of a particular flow-rate change profile different from a normal flow-rate change profile of a gas appliance is detected, the sign of the tamper of the gas can be detected, whereby the tamper of the gas can be prevented. The gas meter device includes an appliance determining unit 6 for determining a gas appliance being used and a tamper determining unit 7 which determines that the gas is used without authorization in the case where the particular flow-rate change profile different from an appliance determining value registered in a registration storage unit 5 is generated.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present disclosure are directed towards a turbine combustor probe having a combustion dynamics monitoring probe configured to monitor combustion dynamics within a turbine combustor. The turbine combustor probe also has a gas sampling sleeve configured to collect a gas sample from an airflow path between a liner and a flow sleeve of the turbine combustor.
Abstract:
A furnace with a push and pull combustion system is disclosed. The furnace may include a cabinet housing a burner box, a gas valve assembly, a premix chamber, a heat exchanger, a blower, an induced-draft blower, and a flue pipe. The gas valve assembly may meter gas into the premix chamber, while the blower may draw air into the premix chamber, wherein air and gas may mix to produce a lean gas/air mixture. The blower may also push the lean gas/air mixture into the burner box. The burner box may ignite the lean gas/air mixture to produce combustion products. A blocked vent safety shutoff switch may be mounted over an opening of the burner box to ensure negative pressure by detecting any leakage of combustion products. The induced-draft blower may pull the combustion products through the heat exchanger, the flue pipe, and out into the atmosphere.
Abstract:
A safety device against gas leaks for an apparatus having at least one gas tap or the like (1) includes control means (11), safety means (22) and detection means (12, 53), for detecting possible presence of gas in a surrounding environment. The detection means (12, 53) are in signal communication with the control means (11), which are configured for controlling the safety means (22) in function of detections earned out by the detection means (12, 53), in order to prevent or interrupt the inflow of combustible gas to a burner. The control means (11) and the safety means (22) belong to a first functional unit (A) of the device (A, B), which is coupled or configured for the coupling with a portion of the body (2) of the tap (1). Preferably the safety means (22) are controllable by the control means (11) for interrupting electric power supply to a solenoid of the tap, following a command signal generated by the detection means (12, 53) and causing as a consequence the passage of the valve in the respective closed condition.
