摘要： A lip seal union fitting attaches to a female boss associated with a hydraulic component. The female boss includes a bore, a first threaded portion located on an inner surface of the bore and a seat. A body of the lip seal union fitting is constructed of a first material and includes a tube-side end, a boss-side end, and a central portion. A second threaded portion is located on an outer surface of the boss-side end. A lip seal is constructed of a second material. The lip seal extends from the central portion of the body towards the boss-side end. The lip seal includes an outer surface that engages the seat of the boss to create a fluid seal as the first and second threaded portions are rotatably engaged. The first material has a greater material hardness than the second material. The first material includes at least one of steel, stainless steel, an titanium alloy and the second material includes at least one of aluminum and aluminum alloy. The lip seal is attached to the body using inertia welding. Finish machining is performed on an outer surface of the lip seal. An anodic or cadmium plate finish is applied to the lip seal to prevent corrosion.

The second fitting formed with an external thread section adjacent to the first end and an annular ridge projecting radially outward adjacent the second end wherein the engagement of corresponding internal and external thread sections causes the at least one locking tang to bend and flex radially thereby allowing the internal locking shoulder to ride up and over the annular ridge. The locking sleeve mounted about the first fitting and being movable between an unlocked position and a locked position.

摘要： A tubular drill pipe section to be used in a well bore is disclosed. The drill pipe section includes upper and lower tool joints, a main steel tubular portion extending upwardly from the lower joint and terminating near the upper tool joint, and an elongated steel protector tube extending downwardly from the upper tool joint and secured to the upper end of the main portion. The main portion has a much lesser wall thickness throughout substantially its entire length than the protector tube. The protector tube is made of AISI 4100 series chrome-molly steel that is quenched and tempered to give it high strength and high hardness (30-38 HRc) with a Martensite small, close knit, grain size. This hard material reduces the penetration of the slip teeth into the wall of the pipe section and increases the fatigue life of the protector to beyond that of the main steel tubular portion.

摘要： Several embodiments of a wedgethread pipe connection are disclosed that have improved makeup, sealing, and non-loosening characteristics. In one embodiment, an open wedgethread is disclosed that has an included angle measured in the gap between the stab flank and the load flank to be not less than zero, so as to prevent premature wedging between mating flanks before the position of full makeup is reached, as does occur between trapped wedgethreads wherein the included angle is less than zero. The invention may be used for pipe threads large or small, as a flush joint, with collars, screwed into plates or it may even be used to reversibly connect such as solid posts to base members where a wide makeup torque range is desired. This Open wedgethread, as opposed to trapped wedgethreads, provides a threaded pipe connection that: is more cost-effective; can seal high pressure gas; can provide selectively a connection strength as high as the pipe strength; assures easy makeup to the desired position of full makeup within a wide torque range; may have a torque strength as high as the pipe torque strength; is easier to manufacture; is easier to gage; and is less subject to handling damage.

摘要： A modular shower arm mounting system includes a water conduit and a replaceable shower arm assembly in sealing engagement therewith. The water conduit has a generally uniform inner wall and an outer diameter wall having a hexagonally or polygonally shaped drive force receiving area adjacent a threaded area. The conduit has one end attached to a manifold behind a shower wall surface and an outlet end projecting from the wall surface of sufficient length therefrom so that the drive force receiving area and threaded area are spaced from the wall surface. The replaceable shower arm assembly has an inner wall with a threaded portion for engagement with the conduit and a substantially smooth portion of gradually decreasing inner diameter downstream of said threaded portion approaching an outwardly projecting end thereof. The seal ring is adjacent the outlet end of the conduit to form a seal with the assembly. The shower arm assembly is replaceable without disconnecting the conduit from the manifold thereby allowing the user to easily change the shape and/or color of the visible shower arm assembly.

An actuator housing is affixed to an external surface of the box portion. The actuator housing has an outer bore and a threaded inner bore. An actuator body is threadably received in the inner bore. The actuator body has a hex head on its first end. The actuator body has a threaded fastener bore extending from the first end for receiving a threaded fastener. The actuator body has a second end that has a stem receptacle formed therein. The fastener bore is in communication with the stem receptacle. An actuator head, which includes a flange and a stem, is provided wherein the stem is positioned within the stem receptacle for sliding engagement therewith. Threads formed on the threaded fastener engage a threaded fastener receptacle formed in the stem of the actuator head. A dog interfaces with the flange and is slidably mounted with respect to the actuator body for engaging a groove in the pin portion of a riser. A threaded fastener is provided to be threadably received in the threaded fastener bore of the actuator body.
