    Abstract: A device may include a strap member, a tensioning member, a first nut, and a second nut. The strap member includes a first portion, a second portion, and a third portion contiguously connected to the first portion and the second portion. The first nut is coupled to the tensioning member adjacent a first end of the tensioning member. The tensioning member extends through the first nut and contacts a surface of the elongate article to apply a tension force and to electrically connect the elongate article to a grounded electrical conductor. The second nut is coupled to the threaded cylindrical member adjacent a second end and acts on the first nut to retain the position of the tensioning member relative to the first nut. The second nut can also act on a compression lug to place the compression lug in connected engagement with the tensioning member.

    Abstract: A cable routing fastener includes a body and an arm extending therefrom, a head projecting from the body, a cover adjacent the arm so movement of the cover is temporarily restricted by the arm, and a cable connector. The body inserts into an aperture in a panel and positions the head and the cable connector adjacent the panel. The head includes an indicia element indicating an assembly status of the fastener, i.e., whether it is properly installed or not. The cover conceals the indicia element in a concealed mode, and moves relative to the head to an exposed mode so the indicia element is exposed for reading. The arm moves when the body is inserted so the arm no longer interferes with movement of the cover, so the cover can be moved by a user, transitioning from the concealed mode to the exposed mode. A related method of use is provided.

    Abstract: An improved cable routing fastener is provided. The cable routing fastener includes a base portion having an integral torsion element and includes a clip, for example a fir-tree clip, integrally joined to the torsion element. The torsion element includes first and second torsion bars on opposing sides of the rotatable clip, such that clip is rotatable relative to the base portion from a first position to a second position in response to an applied torque. The clip extends laterally outward from the base portion in the first position and extends downward from the base portion in the second position. The base portion and the clip are co-molded in the first position as a unitary article, with the clip being manually rotatable into the second position for attachment to an object, for example a vehicle panel or a vehicle pillar.

    Abstract: A suspension loop clamp consisting of a blind rivet nut, a metal strip, and a fastener. The blind rivet nut is inserted into the flat strip through a circular hole in the strip. The blind rivet is then plastically deformed by compression axially applied to both ends of the blind rivet nut from an unset condition to a set condition forming a radially outwardly protruding bulge, which serves to bind the blind rivet nut element to the strip. The blind rivet nut bulge and the loop clamp it is attached to are then additionally dented and thus deformed in a radial pattern so as to be zigzag in shape when viewed through a cross section. This stiffens the protruding bulge so as to restrict the blind rivet nut from reverting back to its original shape when a tensile load is applied opposite to the flange of the rivet nut. The strip of sheet metal is then formed longitudinally into a loop clamp which has bends with holes, at each end, through which a fastener is inserted to clamp the loop around a conduit.

    Abstract: Methods and devices for reducing stress and for increasing the load-bearing capacity of cable racks supporting electrical power and communication conduits and cables having increased versatility for conduit and cable sizes and quantities. Underground devices including rack arms for these applications are desirably made from plastic or composite materials. Rack arms desirably include openings for tying down the conduits and cables atop the arms. While non-metallic materials are designed to withstand environmental stresses, they typically have strength and rigidity properties less than the metallic structures previously used in such applications. Non-metallic rack arms with such openings may be reinforced locally with a stress attenuator or with ribs to increase their load-bearing and buckling capacity and to reduce their stress, strain and deflection under load. A stress attenuator may be made by increasing the in-molded thickness of the web in areas adjacent to or surrounding the tie-down openings.
