    摘要: A grate block for a combustion grate, wherein consecutive grate blocks are arranged in a staircase and are designed to rearrange and convey the combustible material during combustion through pushing motions. The grate block includes a block body, an upper wall forming a supporting surface, and an extension parallel to a longitudinal axis L of the body. The supporting surface drops into a pushing surface formed by a front wall, which has at least one air supply opening for supplying air to the combustion grate, which extends at a right angle or slant to the pushing surface. In the lowest region of the front wall, formed as a foot, which lays on the supporting surface of a grate block, is adjacent in the pushing direction. The front resting edge of the pushing surface is arranged in a plane E extending at a right angle to the longitudinal axis L.

    摘要: The grate is supported in raised, operative position by a raising and lowering mechanism. For cleaning, the grate is lowered onto track rails in an air chamber below the grate. By opening a door in the furnace air jacket the grate may be pulled out onto exterior track rails for cleaning. The grate is equipped with a water cooling coil and flexible hose connections which accommodate travel of the grate into and out of the furnace without disconnection of the water supply. When the grate is pulled out of the furnace it disengages from the raising and lowering mechanism and when rolled back into the furnace it reengages with the raising and lowering mechanism and is lifted to operative position. Instead of cleaning the grate immediately and returning it to the furnace, it may be replaced with a cleaned grate in order to get the furnace back into operation more quickly.

A pair of brackets are attached to each of the side walls and the brackets each pivotally receive a stub shaft extending from a grate within the fireplace. The grate is pivotally mounted by virtue of the stubs extending into the brackets, and the grate includes a plurality of legs which normally engage the hearth of the fireplace.

    摘要: An incinerator of large dimension is provided which is suitable for burning municipal and industrial refuse of widely varying combustibility, particle size and thermal output. A tower structure with a hollowed interior core is provided with an input for refuse at the top, an output for ash at the bottom, and a plurality of grates in horizontal rows between the input and output. Each of the grates includes a central header spanning the interior of the incinerator and a plurality of spaced hollow pipes intersecting the header in coplanar relation. Provision is made to flow water through the header and pipes of each grate to provide a steam byproduct from the combustion and to provide for grate cooling. The grates each can be tilted to permit refuse to fall from an upper grate row to a lower grate row within the incinerator along a path which is away from the incinerator sidewalls.

    摘要: An improved fire grate may provide fresh oxygen rich air to a secondary combustion zone, created by the improved fire grate, of a combustion chamber where a combustion gas stream is typically oxygen starved assisting in the burning process of incompletely burned particulates and reducing other harmful emissions. A baffle plate may be introduced in the secondary combustion zone to increase a combustion chamber temperature, encourage mixing of oxygen starved air with oxygen rich air and increase a residence time of the combustion gas within the combustion chamber. These aspects of the baffle plate promote more efficient burning of the biomass/fuel. Additionally, log lighter(s) may be disposed in the secondary combustion zone to increase a temperature of the combustion chamber for the purposes of reducing harmful emissions.

    摘要: In a grate bar element for a sliding grate furnace for garbage incineration, where the individual grate bar elements are formed for imbricate arrangement and have at their ends openings for the escape of combustion air, the layout is such that each grate bar element (1) has, for multiple circulation of the material (3) to be incinerated, at least two skid surfaces (9, 10) arranged one above the other in cascade fashion, which are limited at their end by steplike lugs (22, 22a). The air outlet openings are provided in each lug (22, 22a) of the grate bar element (1) and are designed as air outlet slots (5, 6) for the horizontal or parallel supply of combustion air to the contiguous next skid surface (9, 10) which slots extend over largely the total width of the grate bar element (1). Each grate bar element (1) is subdivided vertically by an inner longitudinal center web, at whcih air passages (23, 24) are formed on both sides for the supply of the combustion air to the air outlet slots (5, 6).

    摘要: A dump grate for use in a furnace is rotatably mounted therein and includes fluid coolant tubes sinuously arranged within refractory material comprising a grate plate for circulating coolant fluid. The grate plate is shiftable from a first substantially horizontal fuel supporting position to a nonhorizontal fuel dumping position. A rotatable conduit is arranged beneath the grate plate secured thereto for receiving coolant fluid inlet and discharge tubes for supplying coolant fluid and discharging same from the grate plate coolant tubes. Removable grate bars are arranged on portions of the surface of the grate plate, with the spacing provided between permitting selective varying of airflow through the grate plate for additional cooling purposes.

    摘要: A fireplace grate is disclosed for supporting logs, or other fuel, and incorporating a gas burner integrally in the structure of the grate. As disclosed, a plurality of cradle members, of tubular metal stock are affixed to a pair of transverse, support rails which are formed of similar material and include downwardly turned extensions to define the legs of the grate. The tubular stock is of substantially square cross section, forming the grate so that the surfaces are offset from the horizontal to shed ash. One of the rails incorporates end closures to define a passage which is vented by a series of spaced-apart gas jets. A coupling apparatus is affixed to supply the passage with combustible gas, the apparatus incorporating a metering device for limiting the flow rate of gas into the passage.
