    摘要: Scale buildup on the heating element of an electric water heater or industrial process boiler is minimized by directing one or more jets of incoming water or other fluid onto the heating element. Optionally the fluid is pretreated by the induced electric field of an electronic descaling unit. The pretreated water produces soft scale that can easily be removed by a jet of fluid. Preferably a series of fluid jets, from a perforated pipe, are directed at the electric heating element. Also provided is a deflection panel to redirect the jets of water back toward the heating element, thus improving the scrubbing action for removing accumulating scale.

    摘要: An electric water heater is provided with simplified phase conversion apparatus including a terminal structure having replaceable line lug portions which are wired to a single phase row of multi-pin connector sockets by single phase routing circuitry, and to a three phase row of multi-pin connector sockets by three phase routing circuitry. Electrical supply wires from sets of fuse holders connected to multiple thermostat/heating element sets are grouped and connected to associated multi-pin connector plugs. To ready the water heater for single phase operation, the plugs are connected to the single phase row of sockets, and to convert the water heater to three phase operation the plugs are simply disconnected from the single phase sockets and connected to the three phase sockets. In this manner the necessity of individually repositioning all of the fuse holder wires on the terminal structure to change from single to three phase operation, or vice versa, is eliminated.

    摘要: A pressureless electric water heater for domestic use has a cylindrical double-walled tank for holding a quantity of a heat transfer liquid such as water. Cold water enters a copper coil immersed in the heat transfer liquid. The heat transfer liquid is heated by an electric heating element that extends down from a hinged tank top. Cold water flowing through the immersed coil is heated by the heat transfer liquid and exits the coil as hot water. The hinged top allows easy access to the interior of the tank and to the heating element, further easing access and replacement thereof. Sedimentation in the tank is minimized because the tank water is rarely replaced. Sedimentation in the coil is reduced because pressurized water flows through the coil when hot water is required and continuously cleanses the tubing. A sensor block is used to activate the heating element whenever water is introduced into the coils. An automatic fill valve maintains the tank level. A top-nesting container can hold the heating element and thermostat, allowing for easier repairs.

    摘要: An electric water heater for use with a livestock water tank includes a heating element, a housing including a drain plug fitting, and a power cord. The power cord is interconnected with the heating element through a temperature control device, e.g. a thermostat, for delivering electrical power to the heating element in a controlled fashion so as to regulate the temperature of the contents of the tank. The heating element and housing are sized and configured for insertion through the drain plug opening from the outside of the tank. The housing includes a drain plug fitting for affixing the heater to the tank through the drain plug opening in a sealed manner, thereby preventing inadvertent removal of the heater and also preventing the contents of the tank from leaking out of the drain plug opening. The fitting includes a threaded portion or boss sized for insertion through the drain plug opening and a back wall which is larger than that of the drain plug opening.

    摘要: An electric water tank heater is installable through the drain plug opening of a water tank. The heater includes a power cord interconnected with a heating element through a temperature control device for delivering electrical power to the heating element in a controlled fashion. A housing hermetically seals the interconnection between the heating element, the power cord and the temperature control device. The power cord extends through the drain plug opening of the tank and terminates in a conventional male plug that is configured for insertion into a reciprocal power outlet. A drain plug adapter is secured about the power cord and is mountable through the drain plug opening in a water-tight fashion. The drain plug adapter may be permanently mounted about the power cord or may be removably mountable about the power cord. The power cord may include a detachable connector interposed between the heating element and the male plug. The connector is smaller than the electrical plug, and, as a result, the heater may be installed through drain plug openings that are too small to permit the passage of the electrical plug. The connector can be positioned anywhere along the length of the power cord, and integrally formed with the male plug or the heater housing. The drain plug adapter may be used separately or in combination with the detachable connector.

    摘要: A low-cost warm water heater for use in portable toilets, to provide unblended warm water for hand washing provides a small quantity of warm water at a predetermined temperature, the flow being sensibly at ambient pressure. The water system is supplied by hand or foot pump, or gravity feed, using a low power electric immersion heater, within a small, fabricated plastic casing that is of standard fittings, solvent welded to provide a substantially vandal-proof, child-proof heater. Provision of a cold water feed with vacuum break protects the heater against being siphoned dry. Snap-in hose connections simplify assembly and maintenance. While electrically protected by the plastic case construction, electrical ground-fault protection may also be utilized. A stand-alone embodiment incorporates a diaphragm foot pump to provide spurts of warm water.

    摘要: A heating vessel for concentration is formed in an elongated one, and a baffle plate is arranged to increase sulfuric acid liquid concentration at an outlet to a high level. The heating vessel for concentration and a heating vessel for distillation are installed so that the respective heating vessels have substantially the same waste sulfuric acid liquid level therein, forming continuous flow of the sulfuric acid liquid without presence of a valve or an intermediate tank in a connecting pipe. The heating vessel for distillation is formed in an elongated one with a baffle plate arranged therein to increase the impurity concentration included in concentrated sulfuric acid liquid at an outlet to a high level. In addition, a heater inserted into a heating vessel made of glass is supported at two locations of an inserting portion and a leading portion of the heating vessel formed as a bulged portion, reducing stress concentration to the heater supporting portion due to vibration of the liquid in the heating vessel and vibration of the heating vessel per se.
