摘要:
An air conditioning cooling apparatus and method which includes the steps of supplying cooling air generated from a cooling apparatus into an air passageway formed below a floor; guiding the cooling air within the air passageway into an equipment assembly disposed on the floor through an opening located in the floor; communicating the cooling air introduced into the equipment assembly into a plenum and introducing the air released from within the equipment into the plenum and communicating the released air through the cooling apparatus for cooling the released air. The method permits temperature differential between the air supplied to the air passageway and the air introduced into the plenum from the equipment assembly to be 45° F. to substantially 40° F. so as to reduce the power necessary for operating on the fan of the blowing apparatus. The equipment assembly utilizes an air flow control mechanism so as to substantially evenly distribute cooling air to the equipment.

A forced air cooler (10) includes a cabinet (20) defining a lower chamber (30) wherein product is stored and an upper chamber (40) housing a pair of fans (62) and (64) positioned intermediate spaced evaporators (52) and (54). A wire rack (90) disposed on the floor of the cabinet (20) supports the product off the floor and includes integral side fences (94) and (96) which serve to space the product away from the side walls (26) and (28) of the cabinet. The fans (62) and (64) draw air through the evaporators (52) and (54), respectively, and direct the cooing air through the openings provided by the slots (68) in the diffuser plate (66) to provide a uniformly distributed flow of cooling air, at its coolest condition, downwardly into the lower chamber (30) to pass over the product stored therein. Upon reaching the floor of the lower chamber, the cooling airflow passes along the surface of the floor and is drawn into the lower return air duct (70) and thence into side air ducts (76) and (78) to return to the upper chamber (40) and be again drawn through the evaporators (52) and (54).

A concentration cooling apparatus for a refrigerator includes a housing which is mounted in a cold air guiding path, and a nozzle which is rotatably supported in the housing, for concentratedly injecting cold air to a region where a high temperature load is generated when the high temperature load is generated in a predetermined region inside a cooling chamber. An infrared sensor is mounted at the front of the nozzle, for sensing the region where the high temperature load is generated. The sensor rotates together with the nozzle and a frost drying sensor is installed on the upper surface of the nozzle, for drying frost on the surface of the infrared sensor. Thus, the reliability of the infrared sensor can be improved by preventing the formation of frost on the surface of the lens of the infrared sensor which detects whether the high temperature load is generated.

Described is a climate control system with an air conditioning or a heat pump and a method to provide desirable temperature and humidity of indoor air. In addition to a compressor, a condenser, an evaporator, and an expansion device, the air conditioner/heat pump includes an auxiliary coil, valve means, refrigerant communication means, and control means. In hot climate the system operates in two separate modes: a conventional cooling mode and a cooling mode with enhanced dehumidification. In the conventional cooling mode the valve means direct refrigerant leaving the condenser to the expansion device and then to the auxiliary coil to absorb heat from conditioning air by refrigerant in the auxiliary coil. In this mode an extra amount of liquid refrigerant is stored in the refrigerant communication means. In the mode with enhanced dehumidification the valve means direct refrigerant leaving the condenser to the auxiliary coil to reject heat to cooled and dehumidified in the evaporator air from refrigerant in the auxiliary coil. Refrigerant in the dehumidification mode is subcooled, evaporating temperature is lower and cooling capacity of the evaporator is higher than is the conventional cooling mode. These factors increase moisture condensation on the evaporator surface. On the other hand, the temperature of conditioning air is higher than in the conventional cycle due to the heat absorbed by air from the auxiliary coil. Control means that include a thermostat and a humidistat alternate a position of the valve means to provide requested temperature and humidity of indoor air. In cold climate the system may have heating means and a humidification device. Same as in the cooling operation the thermostat and the humidistat manage operations of the heating means and the humidification device.

A cooling air supplying structure for a refrigerator having shelves is disclosed. The cooling air supplying structure comprises a cooling air supplying duct, a plurality of shelf channels and a plurality of shelves. The cooling air supplying duct serves to supply cooling air to upper and lower portions of a refrigerator compartment of the refrigerator and is vertically mounted behind the refrigerator compartment. Each of the shelf channels has a plurality of engagement slits, and at least one of the shelf channels is mounted to the cooling air supplying duct. The shelves are respectively secured to the shelf channels.

A refrigerator, having freezer and fresh food compartments, includes a temperature sensor arranged to sense an average temperature in the fresh food compartment, a multi-position damper interposed in an intake duct leading from the freezer compartment, and a fresh food compartment stirring fan. The stirring fan receives a flow of air from each of the intake duct and a plurality of recirculation ducts exposed to different portions of the fresh food compartment. A control system regulates the stirring fan and the opening of the damper based on the sensed temperature in order to minimize temperature stratification within the fresh food compartment, while maintaining an energy efficient and noise reducing operation.

A cooling air blowing apparatus of a refrigerator includes: a driving motor fixed at a motor mount formed at a rear side of a freezing chamber; a blowing fan mounted on a rotational shaft of the driving motor and configured to blow cooling air in both an axial and a radial direction as the driving motor is driven; and a shroud positioned in a circumferential direction of the blowing fan. The blowing fan includes turbo blades for blowing cooling air in a radial direction in addition to the axial flow blade for blowing cooling air in an axial direction. The cooling air blown in the axial direction is sent to a freezing chamber, while the cooling air blown in the radial direction is sent to the cooling chamber. Thus, the blowing fan with the turbo blades ensures that in a refrigerator having a complicated and long cooling air passage structure, cooling air can be circulated smoothly and quickly.

An apparatus and method for automatically regulating the environmental system of a motorized vehicle and other articles having storage compartments. As impinging air flow is directed through the cabin or compartment subject to environmental control it comes in contact with a desiccant filler contained within a desiccant wheel or canister. The desiccant material absorbs moisture out of the air stream. The resultant air stream, or the extracted moisture released into another air stream, may then be directed to the interior of the motorized vehicle or used in other parts of the system. The net effect is a decrease or increase in the relative humidity level of the air mass contained in the cabin or compartment of a motorized vehicle or refrigeration unit. As one portion or element of the desiccant filler becomes saturated, the other portion or element of the desiccant filler completes it's regeneration cycle. The air streams are altered so that the designated air stream remains in either the hydrous or anhydrous desiccant, thus producing a constant air flow containing either an increased relative humidity or an air stream with a reduced relative humidity to achieve the desired result. The apparatus includes, at least one moisture collection device having an inlet and an outlet, and a system of flow conduits or paths into and out of the compartment or cabin. The air streams may be directed to at least one heat exchanger, a pre-cooler, a compressor, or an evaporator.
