摘要: A phased array of ultrasonic transducers may create arbitrary fields that can be utilized to manipulate fluids. This includes the translation of drops on smooth surfaces as well speeding the evaporation of fluids on wetted hands. Proposed herein is the use airborne ultrasound focused to the surface of the hand. The risk is that coupling directly into the bulk of the hand may cause damage to the cellular material through heating, mechanical stress, or cavitation. Using a phased array, the focus may be moved around, thus preventing acoustic energy from lingering too long on one particular position of the hand. While some signaling may penetrate into the hand, most of the energy (99.9%) is reflected. Also disclosed are methods to couple just to the wetted surface of the hand.

The oscillating voltage is uniquely connected to the moving piezoelectric elements. The vibration of the piezoelectric elements extracts liquid from the wet material in the form of a cold mist that can be vented, captured, reclaimed, or drained.

摘要: A dryer for drying hair or clothes is disclosed. The dryer includes a head and a handle attached to the head. The dryer further includes ultrasonic devices, a controller, a vacuum pump, and a reservoir. The head has a surface on which inlet holes are formed. The ultrasonic devices are positioned on the surface of the head. The ultrasonic devices produce ultrasonic vibrations that break down water molecules into mist. The controller controls an operation of the ultrasonic devices.

摘要: A dryer (100), comprising a dryer chamber (101) coupled to a closed loop gas-circulating system for circulating gas through the dryer chamber (101); wherein the closed loop gas-circulating system recirculates the gas and comprises: a compressor (113) coupled to receive return gas from the dryer chamber (101) and to compress the return gas to provide compressed gas; a separator (109) sitting in the gas-circulating system for draining condensate from the gas; and a gas discharger (103; 104) coupled to receive compressed gas from the compressor (113) and to discharge the compressed gas through a discharger exit (118). The separator sits in the closed loop gas-circulating system downstream of the compressor to receive compressed gas and upstream of the gas discharger (103;104). Thereby drying efficacy is improved and is advantageous at relatively low drying temperatures such as below 40 degrees Celsius. There is also provided a door for a dryer, a method of operating a dryer and a method of drying, such as a method of drying pharmaceutical substances, compounds, ingredients or products.

摘要: The present disclosure relates to methods and apparatuses for removing water from a wet fibrous web. During the process of making a fibrous structure, a capillary dewatering apparatus remove water from a wet porous web. In some configurations, a capillary dewatering apparatus may include a capillary porous media. A molding member, such as a papermaking belt comprising an air permeable fabric, may advance the wet fibrous web onto the capillary porous media, wherein the fibrous web is positioned between the capillary porous media and the air-permeable fabric. An energy transfer surface may be positioned in contact with the air-permeable fabric or the outer circumferential surface, wherein the energy transfer surface operates to vibrate the capillary porous media. In turn, the vibration helps to drive water through the capillary porous media, allowing additional water to flow from the fibrous web and through pores in the capillary porous media.

摘要: Methods and apparatus for using two stage ultrasonic lens cleaning for water removal are disclosed. An apparatus can expel fluid from a droplet on an optical surface using an ultrasonic transducer mechanically coupled to the optical surface and having first and second resonant frequency bands. A signal generator can generate a first signal including a first frequency to be coupled with the ultrasonic transducer mechanically coupled to the surface, and can generate a second signal including a second frequency to be coupled with the ultrasonic transducer mechanically coupled to the surface. Switching circuitry can activate the ultrasonic transducer at the first frequency to reduce the droplet from a first size to a second size, and to activate the ultrasonic transducer at the second frequency to reduce the droplet from the second size to a third size.

摘要: An inkjet printing system, comprising: one or more inkjet printheads for printing drops of ink onto a receiver medium, and an acoustic air impingement drying system positioned in proximity to at least one of the inkjet printheads. The acoustic air impingement drying system includes: an airflow source providing a supply flow rate; an acoustic resonant chamber having an inlet slot that receives air from the airflow source and an outlet slot that directs air onto the receiver medium; an exhaust air channel for removing the air directed onto the receiver medium by the acoustic resonant chamber; a blower for pulling air through the exhaust air channel at an exhaust flow rate; and a blower controller that controls the supply flow rate and the exhaust flow rate, wherein the exhaust flow rate is controlled to match the supply flow rate to within 1%, or to exceed the supply flow rate.
