An extractor assembly, centrally disposed in the central chamber, includes an extractor member having circumferentially spaced radial projections each one of which may be disposed in one of the radial slots at the rear of the cylinder for engagement with the groove of a cartridge. The extractor member is axially movable from a first position, within the central chamber to a second position substantially rearwardly of the central chamber, to force cartridges from the cartridge chambers.

摘要： A caliber-reducing adaptor kit for a revolver having an original revolver barrel, and a cylinder with a chamber having a powder-receiving compartment at one end. A substitute barrel, having a reduced caliber bore, is received in and is detachably mounted to the original revolver barrel. A cylinder insert is removably received in the cylinder chamber between the substitute barrel and the powder-receiving compartment, the insert having a caliber bore substantially the caliber of the substitute barrel. The cylinder insert includes a plunger having a head at one end engageable with an end portion of the substitute barrel, and having a shank portion, the bore being provided in the plunger. A sleeve is slidably mounted on the shank portion of the plunger and is engageable with the cylinder adjacent the powder-receiving compartment. The sleeve is retained captive on the plunger shank portion, and a resilient spring is located between the sleeve and plunger, providing relative movement of the sleeve and plunger under resilient loading. The substitute barrel includes an elongate tube extending internally of and spaced from the original revolver barrel, the tube having opposed threaded ends. A tubular fitting is threadedly connected to each threaded end, the fittings adjustably engaging and clamping the tube to opposite ends of the original revolver barrel.

摘要： A firearm has an external hammer that is manually cocked in order to rotate the trigger to its ready-to-fire position. The hammer has an elongated vertically extending recess formed therein, such that when the hammer is adjacent the firing pin, an end portion of the recess is juxtaposed to the firing pin, and the hammer does not engage the firing pin. An elongated safety member is disposed within the recess and movable between retracted and extended positions, the extended position being such that the hammer may drive the safety member into engagement with the firing pin, and the retracted position being such that the safety member cannot engage the end of the firing pin but may lodge beneath its under side. A cam carried by the trigger cooperates with the hammer for controlling the position of the safety member. During firing the safety member swings with the hammer, and the firing pin is actuated by the combined kinetic energies of both.

摘要： A firearm that is preferably a revolver has an improved gain bolt construction, particularly for use in larger caliber weapons such as a 44 Magnum revolver. The gain bolt design indirectly assists the hand in particular in the final indexing of the cylinder. The revolver comprises a frame, a hand grip, a trigger, a hammer, a cylinder, and a hand arrangement for operating the cylinder. The trigger is pivotally supported in the frame and has a front flange for operating the bolt which is selectively moveable upon operation of the trigger to permit rotation of the cylinder and lock the cylinder in predetermined positions. The bolt is supported in a compartment forward of the trigger. The bolt includes a forward pivot end, a rear end engaged by a flange of the trigger, and a top lug which is adapted to be selectively locked with a slot in the cylinder in predetermined positions of the cylinder.

摘要： A firearm construction includes a housing mounting at least one, and preferably a plurality, of barrels, each having a firing bore terminating in an inner projectile charging end and including a magazine compartment in the housing around the projectile charging end of the barrel. A cartridge sealing sleeve is associated with each barrel and extends concentrically behind the projectile charging end and provides a centering for the projectile and the propelling charge therefor. The propelling charge and projectile are carried in a cartridge holder in the form of a plate having a plurality of circumferentially and preferably also radially spaced bores each of which includes a cartridge holder. The cartridge holders advantageously comprise short members having a rear end with a chamber defining a priming cap chamber which communicates through a central passage to an opposite front end in the form of a concave or recessed end which contains the propelling charge and the projectile. When the cartridge holder is positioned in the firearm magazine compartment, the projectiles which extend outwardly from the propelling charge are centered within the bore of the cartridge sealing sleeve. The priming chamber at the rear end of the cartridge holder is in a position to be engaged by a movable cartridge striking pin or firing mechanism.

摘要： A revolver-type pistol has a cylinder formed of a front section rotatably mounted on the pistol frame and a removable rear section formed with a plurality of throughgoing chambers each adapted to receive a respective cartridge. This rear section can be removed from the front section with the spent cartridges and replaced by another section so as to allow quick reloading of the pistol. A coupling is provided between the two sections to rotationally link them together and a spring-loaded mechanism is provided to hold the rear section tightly against the front section. The chambers in the rear section may terminate at the front face of the rear section in small holes alignable with similar holes in the front section so that the blank cartridges exploded in the rear section will discharge through these holes. The front section may have a rearwardly extending stem formed with teeth operated by the mechanism of the pistol to rotate the cylinder. The rear section in this case is of annular shape and carried on this rearwardly extending stem.
