摘要: A marine barrier includes a flexible plate, a plurality of studs mounted on the flexible plate, and a plurality of buoyancy members attached below the flexible plate. The plurality of buoyancy members provides buoyancy for the flexible plate, allowing the plurality of studs above a water surface, while the plurality of buoyancy members below the water surface.

摘要: A barrier for protecting a port, waterway, or off-shore structure is provided. The barrier has a front elongated pontoon which extends substantially the length of the barrier. A net assembly, provided either in sections, or as an elongated net, extends vertically upward from the front elongated pontoon and along the length of the front elongated pontoon. The net assembly is affixed to the front elongated pontoon with one or more net support beams. The front elongated pontoon is supported by a rear pontoon support structure, which may be a series of pontoons, each connected to the front elongated pontoon and spaced apart the length of the front elongated pontoon, or an elongated cylindrically shaped rear pontoon which extends substantially the length of the barrier. In some embodiments, a rear net section is attached to the rear pontoon support structure. In another embodiment of the invention, a barrier system for protecting a port, waterway, or off-shore structure is provided. The barrier system comprises two or more contiguous barrier units, one of which is a barrier according to the present invention that form a perimeter to protect the port, waterway, or off-shore structure and can additionally act as a debris barrier. In one embodiment, the barrier system forms a perimeter protecting a port or waterway. In another embodiment, the barrier system protects an off-shore structure.

摘要: A chain mesh for easy installation comprises a plurality of running lengths of chain. In one embodiment a plurality of vertical running lengths are positioned in parallel spaced relationship. A plurality of substantially horizontal running lengths are then positioned closely adjacent the plurality of vertical running lengths, and then the points of crossing are interconnected by connecting links therebetween. Each connecting link is normally open, and then closed after being installed between a respective vertical link and a close horizontal link. The connecting links permit a flexibility between the vertical and the horizontal chains, but substantially retain the cross parallel chains in such relationship. This crossed relationship may have the respective plurality of chains substantially perpendicular to each other, or they may be at an oblique angle to each other.

摘要: A floating barrier system has a plurality of connected floating barrier units. Capture net segments are positioned on the floating barrier units by support post members, forming a barrier to vessel passage. Lanyards attach the ends of the capture net segments to the floating barrier units. Upon a vessel striking the capture net segments with sufficient force, the capture nets detach from the support post members and/or pull the support post members over, and the forces from the vessel are transferred via the lanyards to the floating barrier unit. The vessel is prevented from fully passing over the floating barrier unit, thus itself forming a barrier to passage by other vessels.

摘要: A marine barrier system is provided with two elongate buoyant members, a net support member between and above the two buoyant members, an elongate load bearing member spaced from and between the buoyant members, and a lower ballast member between the two buoyant members and below the buoyant members. Stanchions extend between the members to support them and maintain the spacing between them. An impact net is attached to the net support member and the load bearing member. When a moving vessel impacts the impact net, the net deflects to transfer a force of the impact to the net support member, the stanchions, the load bearing member and the buoyant members, which engage the water to transfer the impact force to the water and arrest the motion of the vessel. The ballast member provides a force to restore the barrier to an upright position when the barrier rotates from vertical.

摘要: A marine barrier has a line of buoyant column modules, and an impact net attached to and extending between the column modules. First and second lines of buoyant flotation modules are respectively disposed parallel to and on opposing sides of the line of column modules, and are connected to the column modules by legs such that each of the flotation modules is retained between two adjacent ones of the center column modules. When the barrier is floating in a body of water and a moving vessel impacts the impact net, the impact net deflects to transfer a force of the impact to one or more of the column modules and flotation modules, which in turn engage the water to transfer the force of the impact to the water, to arrest the motion of the vessel.

摘要: A marine barrier has buoyant panels elastically connected with an included angle therebetween, to form a pleated row of panels with hinges arranged in first and second rows. An impact net having cables is attached to a net connection portion of each hinge in the first row. The net connection portions are attachable to the cables with a tension such that, when the barrier is floating and a moving vessel impacts the net, an impact force causes the cables to move relative to the net connection portions, transferring a portion of the force of the impact to the net connection portions, until cable stops on the cable ends engage net connection portions adjacent the cable stops. The force of the impact is then transferred to the panels, which engage the water to transfer the force of the impact to the water, to arrest the motion of the vessel.

摘要: A security barrier system for controlling boat access to a protected area includes a barrier having an opening through it for boat passage. The barrier may be a fixed structure such as an earthen berm, or may be a floating barrier. A pair of spaced-apart support members, fixed in the waterbottom, are on either side of the opening. A gate is connected to one of the support members and spans the opening. A remotely operable latch means locks the gate closed, preventing passage. In one embodiment, a boat remotely unlocks the gate and pushes the gate open, then flex members return the gate to a closed and locked position. In another embodiment, particularly for locations with significant water level changes, the gate moves vertically on floats in response to water level, and a remotely operable system both unlocks/locks the gate and moves it between closed and open positions.
