    摘要: A glow-in-the-dark piling cap is described herein that uses glow-in-the-dark materials on a dock piling cap to make pilings to which the cap is installed visible at night without the maintenance hassles of electrical-based lighting. The cap provides typical protection for the piling from the elements as well as lighting to aid boaters and users of the structure associated with the piling to see the piling at night. The glow-in-the-dark substance can be coated on the piling cap or mixed into the plastic, resin, or other material used to make the cap. The use of glow-in-the-dark materials eliminates any need for maintenance. Thus, the glow-in-the-dark piling cap provides protection for the piling, and maintenance-free lighting to alert boaters and users of the structure associated with the piling to nighttime hazards.

    摘要: A docking system to aid in docking a boat includes an elongate member that engages the dock and a distal end extending into the body of water away from the dock. A line having configured to attach to the beach or walkway is connected to a distal end of the elongate member. A first connecting assembly, including a first line that is releasably securable to the dock and a float secured to a distal portion of the first line, engages a distal portion of the elongate member. A second connecting assembly comprising a second line is releasably securable to the dock. At least two elongate floats are secured to the second line. The second connecting assembly is connected to the float of the first connecting assembly, and the second connecting assembly is longer than the first line.

    摘要: A marine barrier gate includes a pleated row of buoyant panels movable between an expanded position where the panels have an angle therebetween, and a retracted position where the panels are substantially parallel. A first buoy is attached to a first end of the panel row, and a second buoy is remote from the panels when the panels are in the retracted position. The second buoy has a tow winch and cable attached to a second end opposite the first end, for moving the panels from the retracted position to the expanded position. The first buoy comprises a catenary winch and cable movably engagable with the panels and attached to the second buoy. When the panels are in the retracted position, the catenary winch sets a length or tension of the catenary cable such that it absorbs catenary loads on the barrier when the panels are moved to the expanded position by the tow winch.
