    摘要: A guage such as is used in connection with a Bourdon tube comprises two bearing plates, at least two metallic spacer columns interconnecting the bearing plates, a pointer shaft rotatably mounted between the bearing plates, and a spiral spring fixed at its inner end to the shaft. One spacer column has an axial slot extending from one end of the column for receiving the outer end of the spiral spring. The outer spring end is inserted into the slot when the pointer shaft carrying the spring is assembled thereby saving the extra step in the manufacturing process required for locating the outer spring end in conventional gauges of this type. The slotted end of the spacer column extends beyond the outer side of the respective bearing plate so that the slot may be engaged by a screw driver for pre-tensioning the spring after complete assembly of the gauge.

    摘要: A temperature responsive electrical switch which includes a temperature calibrated pressure gauge employing a gas-filled sealed temperature sensing assembly comprising a bourdon tube connected to a thermal bulb by means of a tubular conduit. Enclosed within the housing of the temperature responsive electrical switch is electrical switch means which makes or breaks contact in response to variations in temperature at the thermal bulb which in turn causes motion of the bourdon tube. Means are disclosed for mechanically linking the bourdon tube to the electrical switch means to open or close the contacts of the switch means in response to temperature variations. Means are also disclosed for adjusting the electrical switch means so that the electrical switch means will open or close at a precise temperature which is visually displayed on the temperature responsive electrical switch.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for charging a thermostatic system with a condensable fluid. Essential parts of the apparatus are a storage container for the condensable fluid, a metering container and a charging head. The condensable fluid in the storage container exerts a vapor pressure and, with the use of valve means, vaporized fluid is caused to flow to the metering container until a first predetermined pressure is reached. With the use of other valve means vaporized fluid in the metering container is caused to flow through the charging head to the thermostatic system to be charged until a second lower predetermined pressure is reached. A reducing valve is between the storage container and the metering container to effect a superheated condition for the fluid flowing to the metering container.
