摘要: The present disclosure is directed to methods and apparatus that may collect information relating to a group of electrical power distribution wires, commonly referred to as an electrical branch circuit. Such methods can controllably cause a circuit breaker to open (clear) while keeping the branch circuit loaded within a predetermined set of parameters or specifications. Apparatus consistent with the present disclosure may use multiple high power resistive elements of different resistance values that are selectively connected to the branch circuit in a manner that provides a configurable limit to an available fault current when data relating to the branch circuit are collected and evaluated. Such methods can provide a positive indication to an electrician that allows the electrician to know that a particular electrical circuit has been de-energized before the electrician works on that particular electrical circuit.

摘要: A method for detecting a break in connection of a neutral of a three-phase electricity network, implemented in a processing unit of an item of electrical equipment connected to the electricity network includes acquiring, at a time T, a first phase voltage (V1), a second phase voltage (V2) and a third phase voltage (V3) measured by voltage sensors of the item of electrical equipment; evaluating a first quantity representative of a ratio between a maximum voltage and a minimum voltage from the first, second and third phase voltages; if the first quantity is greater than a predetermined threshold: evaluating, based on the first, second and third phase voltages, a second quantity; detecting a break in the neutral at the time T when the second quantity satisfies a predetermined reference criterion.

摘要: A wiring harness testing assembly for testing a wiring harness for wiring faults includes a puck that is positionable on a female coupler of a wiring harness on a semi-truck and the puck is foraminous. A plurality of testing lights is provided and each of the testing lights has a contact that is insertable through a respective foramen in the puck to electrically engage the female coupler of the wiring harness when the puck is positioned on the female coupler. Furthermore, respective ones of the testing lights are turned on when the contact on the respective testing light completes a circuit with a respective wire on the wiring harness thereby facilitating the respective wire to be tested for continuity.

摘要: Poor opening is detected with certainty and reliability with respect to a ground line of an integrated circuit device regardless of the connection state of a load and the operating state of a drive circuit. In an integrated circuit device 10, a drive circuit 30 switches between conduction and interruption of a load current using switch elements 40 and 45. The ground line 31 is grounded via the GND terminal 32 to the common ground provided outside the integrated circuit device 10 and is connected to the drive circuit 30. The ground line 21 is grounded to the common ground via the GND terminal 22 and is connected to the control circuit 20. The diagnostic current supply circuit 90 supplies a predetermined diagnostic current to the ground line 31. The rectifying elements 61 and 62 are connected between the ground line 21 and the ground line 31. The diagnostic circuit 70 measures the potential difference between the ground line 31 and the ground line 21 and compares the potential difference with the predetermined comparison voltage 73 to diagnose the grounding state of the ground line 31.

摘要: A method which allows for the quick and accurate detection of faulty operating conditions and bad interconnections between and within devices in an electrical system. The method allows for the detection of arcing in wiring and components, high resistance connections, loose components, and the like. Voltage or current at each end of a conductor, or on each side of a system component, or the current through a component, may be detected and analyzed. A fault or abnormal condition is indicated when the voltage or current exceeds an expected level. Alternatively, resistance may be detected and analyzed, and a fault condition indicated when the resistance exceeds an expected level. Existing detection or computation equipment already associated with the system may be used for the detection and analysis.

摘要: A system and method for performing a self-testing a piezo sounder using a feedback pin while being driven by an ultra-sonic frequency. A method includes operating a sounder device in a test mode, the sounder device is operated in an inaudible frequency range during the test mode and detecting a feedback response voltage. The method includes comparing the feedback response voltage to a reference voltage and providing an indication of a failure mode based at least in part on the feedback response voltage.
