Abstract: A computer-based system and method, and a computer readable medium containing computer software, for teaching a writing process to a plurality of users. A writing process component provides to a user a plurality of writing type options and receives from the user a writing type selection. The writing process component receives from the user a writing topic selection for the writing type selection and receives from the user a first draft about a writing topic selection. Guidance is provided to the user for self evaluating the first draft and the user is prompted to revise the first draft responsive to the user's self evaluation. The revised first draft about the selected topic is received from the user and the user is prompted to wait a predetermined period of time. The user is prompted to read aloud the revised first draft to a second person and to obtain feedback from the second person responsive to the reading aloud of the revised first draft. The user is prompted to prepare a final draft by revising the revised first draft responsive to the feedback obtained from the second person, and the final draft about the selected topic is received from the user and stored. A user management component is provided for managing a plurality of users.

Abstract: A puzzle is provided comprising a base formed from a transparent material and including a generally planar bottom wall and a frame extending upwardly from the bottom wall to define a puzzle recess. The puzzle further comprises a plurality of transparent puzzle pieces dimensioned to be received within the puzzle recess of the base. The transparent puzzle pieces are formed from a material that removably accepts markings thereon. The puzzle can be used by placing the base and the assembled puzzle pieces over a selected image which can be traced with a suitable marker. The puzzle pieces with the traced image thereon can be removed from the base and subsequently reassembled. The image created on the puzzle pieces can further be removed therefrom to enable the creation of a new puzzle.

Abstract: A phosphorescent writing sheet and system along with methods of production and use are provided. The writing/drawing system includes a writing sheet and a light source. The writing sheet includes a generally transparent substrate sheet or film, phosphorescent paint, and a generally transparent covering sheet or film. To create the writing sheet, a thin layer of the phosphorescent paint is deposited onto the inner surface of the substrate. When the paint is dry, the covering sheet is positioned above the paint layer. The layers are then laminated to adhere the substrate layer to the covering layer with the paint enclosed between them to form the transparent or translucent writing sheet. To use, the light source is run along either the front or back outer surface to create a track, which triggers the phosphorescent paint to luminesce to create glowing traces along the track of the light source.

Abstract: One or more transparent or translucent sheets of cellophane are folded and cuts are made to create symmetric patterns and designs. The cellophane creates diffraction, refraction, interference, and reflection pattern of light that become strikingly visible when viewed under polarized light. The cellophane patterns and designs are placed on top of one another such that the holes in the overlapping sheets cause a variation in the path of light traveling through the layers of the cellophane, creating beautiful and varied optical patterns of light that change with the placement of the layers of cellophane and with variation of the angle of polarized light for a kaleidoscope effect. The cellophane is viewed against the backdrop of a blue sky to provide a source of polarized light. Placing the cellophane on glossy black cardboard brings out the prismatic colors created by light refraction and reflection.
