摘要: A booklet, in the form of a tab booklet, includes a cover and a reading passage page that has a first portion in which first content is contained and a side tab that extends outwardly along a first side edge. The reading passage page includes a fold line that defines a top portion and a bottom portion of the reading passage page. The booklet includes a plurality of tabbed pages located subsequent to the reading passage page. Each tabbed page includes a tab formed along a top edge of the tabbed page, wherein the tabs of the tabbed pages are laterally offset from one another when the booklet is constructed. The fold line is located such that when the top portion is folded along the fold line and is superimposed over the bottom portion, the tabs are visible and extend above the folded reading passage page. The booklet is fastened along a left side edge of the cover and the left side edges of the tabbed pages and along a left side edge of the tab portion.

摘要: A binding system (30H) having separate page images (81), (82), and (84) each of which present a portion of a complete map or image. The page images are printed within binding system (30H) which comprises three or more main pages (80a), (80b), and (80c) bonded to a main spine (21), and one or more secondary pages (86a) mounted on secondary spine (23a). Main spine (21) and secondary spine (23a) are substantially perpendicular to each other and bisect each other. Thereby allowing pages to be turned both vertically and horizontally without significantly altering the binding systems overall dimensions when open.

摘要: A reversible notebook combines the features of accordion-folded pages and unique string binding. The accordion-folded pages allow for the continuous presentation of text or images with no area lost to bound margins. This is ideal for small presentations such as a portfolio of business cards. As another advantage, the notebook has uniform thickness rather than being thicker at one spine than the other. The string binding allows the notebook to be opened at either spine while the other spine remains secured closed. In conjunction with the accordion fold, this allows for presentation of two different sequences of content. The notebook may be large enough to use as a journal or album. For larger implementations, magnets or locks may be used to further secure one or both spines.

摘要: An interactive printed article includes a cover and a plurality of printed leaves on which a plurality of touchpoints are distributed. A particular printed leaf among the plurality of printed leaves includes first and second viewed surfaces and first and second inner surfaces and has a touch sensor incorporated therein proximate to a touchpoint among the plurality of touchpoints. At least one of the first and second viewed surfaces has content printed thereon, and at least one of the first and second inner surfaces has a conductive trace formed thereon. The interactive printed article further includes an electronics package electrically coupled to the conductive trace that initiates presentation of a particular presentation corresponding to the touchpoint in response to detection via the touch sensor of selection of the touchpoint.

摘要: In a method for producing large-scale pages of a book, one or a plurality of long sheets of paper or other flexible material is folded in an alternative forward and reverse direction along a single axis, yielding an accordion fold structure. Such pages are bound along a single edge to yield a book of enormous proportion. According to one exemplary embodiment, each page of the book is of approximately five feet by seven feet in dimension, yielding a compelling visual display that may contain life-sized portraits, brilliant landscapes, detailed maps, a panoply of disparate visual images, text, diagrams, or blank pages for creative uses. Methods of binding may include tabbing folds of the pages and then stitching through the tabs.

摘要: The booklet (1) has front (2) and back (3) protective covers between which is sandwiched a printed folded sheet (4). The folded sheet (4) consists of a series of panels (9, 10, 11, 12, 13) that are folded one over another in turn and are then folded together in half about at least one fold line (21) orthogonal to the folding of the individual panels. With this booklet, its overall dimensions when folded can be kept small for example credit card size whereas the printable area of the inner folded sheet is much larger. Moreover, the structure of the booklet is one suitable for in-line production.
